Sing along to win your own copy of Magicka 2

Magicka 2

I have a very soft spot for Magicka, that bizarre mage game. It’s filled with tons of enemies, millions of spells in which to dispatch them, and more jumbled jargon than all the Sims games put together. There is a sequel in the works, due for release in 2015. Are you capable of stringing words together in nonsensical rhythm? Think you’re more talented or equal to any of our local Idol’s wooden mic champions?  Stick around, you could be walking away with your own copy of the game when it releases.

No really, this isn’t some kind of troll post. Check out this new… I guess we could call it trailer, for Magicka 2. It features the beautiful voice of Vlad, the handsome non vampire singer.

Damn catchy songs, I’ve already got the tune stuck in my head! Don’t have sound? I’ve captured some lines from the video so you can  at least have an idea of what it’s about.

…a gamepad is supported
and the critters are wood.
come on now,
don your robe and your hood!

I’m sorry, but you don’t get deeper lyrics than that! Vlad really knows a thing or two about song writing. What’s even better is the video itself. It has a pretty solid 90’s feel. It ties in nicely with the website – which has a design that would have fitted in two decades ago too.

Seriously though, if you are interested in winning a copy of the game, you just need to put together your own video. The site even has a template which is packed with sing along assets to get you started. If you absolutely love the song and must have it as your own, you can download it off the site too. As of writing, it has been downloaded 24 639 times. Hang on, 24 640, I just downloaded it myself.

I’m quite fond of this kind of marketing. It’s crazy, humorous, and just plain fun. I absolutely cannot wait to see what fan submissions come about. Singing aside, are you excited for Magicka 2?
