So like, Mortal Kombat X just got announced

Not that I have any problem with Injustice: Gods Among Us, which may be the best fighting game of this generation, but I’d be damn happy to see a new Mortal Kombat announced soon. And for once, it totally was. And without all the usual hype and teasing that accompanies such sequels. Like totally, dude.

Speaking to GamerHub.TV via Destructoid, Mortal Kombat Legacy producer Lance Sloane mentioned the upcoming sequel series, as well the next game which is on the way, no biggie:

Well, we’ve been in greenlight committee for a while at the studio and we’ve got a great script. And we’ve got a great director with Kevin Tancharoen, who is on board. It’s just figuring out the business side of it and when we would do it and when we would launch it and how do we sync up with the launch of the game that they’re working on now. It’s not 100% yet, but we’re getting closer every day.

So there you have it. Mortal Kombat Ten, or X which I’ll put a cash bet on, is on the way. Now, while it may not be necessary for a new Mortal Kombat to emerge, shut up and I don’t care. And if you happen to be a PC gamer, remember, the game is finally out on your platform. Play it, learn it, live it and love it.

You’re kidding me…MK4 was the stuff of legend…simple and effective gameplay…granted they went off on another trip with all the rest that followed but if done properly, it can be amazing…playing in 2d is lekker for a nostalgia trip but really… No longevity at all…

I reckon Tekken is better than any 2d fighting game ever made, and yes, that includes SF2…

King of fighters, Street fighter, Capcom vs SNK 2.. WINNING.

Arcade versions , a big yes but console versions of Tekken 2,3 and tag were really slow in comparison…Tekken 5 is pure mastery imo…

Oh and you can add Xmen vs SF and World Heroes to your list of 2D beatem’up awesomeness…

I totally agree with the Tekken thing… I had 3 on the PS1 and it was awesome, now have Tekken 6 on the Xbox and it kinda sucks.

But then there’s Soul Calibur… which has always been awesome, but then again it hasn’t REALLY changed much lol.

Mortal Kombat Conquest was still a cool series. Apart from its cheesy scenes from time to time. I loved the Rain fight with Siro and Kung Lao in one of the episodes! lol not to mention the Subzero and Scorpion fight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ2QqMJmsjc and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLcICZvlKuk

Legacy was very good as well. You have to admit though… Shao Kahn in Mortal Kombat Conquest is the best one so far out of the movies etc etc

Hmmm, I though they hit the 100% as-good-as-it-can-get on the last one.

Not sure how they will improve the next. Maybe a new baddie, Shau Kahn is getting old and very dead.

Personally, I have MK9 and Injustice, both I feel have hit this 100% on the current consoles.
