ZOOOOOOM

Three months ago (has it been that long already?), Gavin had a vision – a dream he wanted to desperately fulfil. He wished to gather up teams, throw them together, and host the best Rocket League Championship the world has ever seen. Being young and naive, I offered to help him tick this tournament off his bucket list, which of course meant I was left to run the whole thing singlehandedly.

Now, after much admin, after many rocket jumps and forfeits and snipes and surprise substitutes, we have reached the grand final. Which two teams will be facing off to claim the first ever non existent trophy for the Super Lazygamer Rocket League Championship?

Not our Lazygamer All Star team sadly. After being kicked down to the lower bracket by TUBE a while back, we swore vengeance, and set out to destroy them once and for all. We climbed that losers bracket, and met them in the lower final. Sweet victory would be ours!

Except, it wasn’t. The first game saw TUBE klapping us something ridiculous like a bazillion to nil (I lost count). Game 2 was far better thankfully, and we snatched victory in overtime.

Game 3 was fantastic, and something I wish more people had witnessed. There was so much back and forth, well into overtime too. One silly mistake though, and TUBE snuck the ball in, kicking us out of the tournament, and reducing our dignity to below negative levels. If you listen closely, you can still hear the sound of Gavin raging profusely – or crying – it’s hard to make out.

Anyhow, TUBE will now face Zara’s Angels in the grand final! The game will hopefully take place this Sunday, and I’m hoping to get is streamed if possible. I’ll share more details closer to the time.

Who will win? Place your bets now!
