PHONY

I know you guys. You’re not satisfied with the recent reveal of the existence of a PlayStation 4 being confirmed with a glorified controller showcase and David Cage explaining that the more Ellen Pages that there are in his games, the more emotional they are. And it doesn’t help when a new video does the rounds, heralding the damn console into reality. Pity that it’s all a ruse.

According to Sony (via Kotaku), it’s all phony enough to warrant digging up the fictional corpse of literary jackass Holden Caulfield and have him shout fake at the 44 second pseudo-ad.

But it’s a damn good attempt at tricking gamers into believing that they may have just seen the fourth coming of their Playstation messiah. And it’s fantastic timing too, with E3 almost upon us. But it still doesn’t hold a candle to this retro Playstation One advert;

Ah, the good old days.
