Right now, you can bet that all your local cosplayers are putting the finishing touches on their costumes. And those costumes are going to look great! Except don’t tell the cosplayer that, because they’ll be wracked with self-doubt about that one detail that they missed, and oh crap please don’t let anyone notice that the nose on my costume is out of proportion. Ahem, anyway, there was more cosplay on the weekend at the Russian convention known as Igromir. And it also looked superb Check it out!
In case you’re unfamiliar with it, Igromir is the biggest gaming convention in all of Russia. Last weekend, the event attracted a crowd that was estimated to be between 140 000 and 150 000 people strong. Naturally, a large percentage of those folks were dressed like their gaming and various other assorted pop culture heroes:
Photo credits, which I hope I have right, belong to Mikhail Shvetsov, Vyacheslav Uvarov, Evgeny Dal, Egor Tsyganov, Vladimir Sobolev, Viktor Zhilin, Alexander Kezin, Vladislav Bogdanov, Alexandra Denisova, Viktor Temnov, Grada Nifyodova, Anton Sinyukov and Meownauts. If we have any Russian readers who reckon I’ve missed out any photo credits, please do let me know. You can also find a ton more photos, right here.
I’ve got a few small finsihing touches to put on my own costume for rAge this weekend. It’s essentially blackening up my eyes, to make them stand out more in my Batman cowl. Geoff has offered to help, by “telling me twice”. See you guys this weekend, on a very hot and humid Saturday where I will most likely sweat myself to death inside of all that rubber!
