The Final Fallout 3 comparison!

Eurogamer has put up a comparison video, and I must admit after watching it, I really don’t see how any claims that the PS3 version looked “sub standard” could in any way be valid.

Both are pretty much on par with each other, the 360 version seems to have a higher contrast which makes the darker areas of the game less visible, in turn the PS3 version seems to not suffer from this and also seems to have a much crisper look, too bad then that the anti-aliasing is pretty much non existent.

Overall though the PS3’s textures seem just ever so slightly better which could be due to the contrast being better. Either way this game looks great on both systems and anyone who says the ps3 version is sub par is wrong, end of story. It is a monumental feat that both console versions have lived up the the PC version in the first place which is definitely the pick of the bunch if you have the gear to run it.

I wonder why the PS3 doesn’t have anti-aliasing? Whats up with that?

So if one had a 360 and a PS3 which would be the version to get?

I think it’s pretty obvious from that video. Get the 360.

yeah too bad most programers don’t quite know they’re way around the cell processor yet its too difficult to write games on. So much for that.. That why most games get made on 360 and just get ported over

Not sure about Fallout 3 but in the previous ones the dog can only help you fight. It wasn’t even a good fighter but for some reason I always quick-loaded when the dog died. I’m a dog lover you see. 🙂

Dogmeat is pretty awesome hes a good fighter against things his size, rad moles and such and can hold his own against a a raider, he can also fetch you random health ups and ammpo from the world around you. Unfortunately hes far from fire resistant so id keep him away from fire ants if I was you.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contrast_(vision)
Its something that can mess up an image real good if not setup correctly.

Btw, isn’t there an option for this on the console versions of the game so you could tweak it? I only got the PC version.

Fallout 3 is getting exclusive DLC on the 360 an PC so it’s a bit of a no brainer.

Actually, the PS3 can do anti-aliasing, but the 360 got the better GPU which can do a higher sample rate than the PS3, thus better looking anti-aliasing. I never really notice jagged edges on PS3 games, but then again, I don’t sit with my nose against the display.

    I agree.The 3rd person really looks dumb.
Oh,and in answer to your question,it sounds like Dogmeat
is somewhere in a scrapyard to the North of Megaton.Altho
you might find him randomly on your way there as well. That’s
just what I’ve heard.Haven’t had the time to go look for him
yet as I kinda have my hands full at the moment with taking
a wrong turn and landing smack-bang in the middle of a bunch
    of Super Mutants 🙂
