The Order: 1886 still looks dead sexy in these new screenshots

To be honest, I’ve still got no idea what kind of game The Order: 1886 is going to be. Will it be a stock-standard shooter according to my early experiences? A thrilling chapter in what will most likely be the first game in a new franchise? A great example of manly moustaches? Hell if I know. What I am certain of however, is that the game is a winner in the looks department. It’s the kind of game that I want, purely so that I can show my console hardware off to plebs. And these too hot for pre-release date screenshots aren’t helping.

Currently in the hands of other people for review purposes, some folks have been live-streaming and uploading footage of the game, and earning themselves a naughty spot on the Sony list. Fortunately, I’m more off the radar than a Japanese naval fleet approaching pearl harbour, so I can upload a whole bunch of screens captured from these streams, that were collated by DualShockers.

They’re reasonably spoiler-free, but be wary nonetheless:

I truly am genuinely impressed with the visuals in the game, something that doesn’t happen often. The Order: 1886 may not have completely breached the uncanny valley effect yet, but it’s the damned closest we’ve seen a game come so far. If you haven’t seen the game in action, just know that the hype surrounding the visuals, are actually spot-on. The Order’s software really does allow for some truly amazing physics, models and design. And it’s a cinematic approach that does work.

The game is out later this month. And I’m still amazed that we haven’t seen any advertising along the lines of Pre-Order: 1886.

  1. This is the game…. If this bombs out, then I am going to stop playing games until Uncharted 4!! I really need a good story game that doesn’t lose itself in a sand box!! I am over the sand box now, I need a bit more story driven games please…

Witcher 3 is coming? Not sand box per say. Just 3 big maps. Should have a decent story.

“I truly, am” (unless you meant Trudy?)
“And it the cinematic approach doesn’t work”.

To be fair, it couldn’t be a noun because there would be a preceding comma as well as a capitalisation of the “truly”.

Otherwise, spot on. Lol, thank you. XD

Now Tosh, when we start having trouble distinguishing between what is real and what is digital, it shows just how real and terrifying Gamergate is.
