The Elder Scrolls Online seems to be giving us enough information on a regular basis to build up speed on that hype train. I’m still not sure about the monthly subscription plus purchasing the game set-up. I don’t like that part. But, with the game looking this fantastic, I may need to give it a whirl, at least for a month or two. Or ten.
Here is the brand new cinematic trailer:
For the non-video viewing among you, it’s purely a cinematic, no gameplay. However, we do see a variety of races and classes engaging in an enormous battle complete with massive amounts of destruction. There are some monstrous creatures to fight, plenty of impressive abilities and general prettiness. It’s not all battle, though – we do get some nice environmental shots as well. The world seems is huge, and rather detailed, too.
It really is looking like a gorgeous game – let’s hope there isn’t the same need for modding with this as there was for Skyrim. It appears that Bethesda has really upped its game on graphics for this Elder Scrolls iteration.
Can’t wait for release? You can get early access by pre-ordering the game. This means you get five days early access, as well as the ability to play any race in any alliance. If you’re really keen on this game, it seems like a worthwhile investment. Who wouldn’t want a head start of five days?
You know TESO is coming to PC and Mac in April and PS4 and Xbox One in June. Consoles gamers will be on one set of servers, while the rest will be on another. This means Mac and PC users can play together. Does this mean Mac users are finally part of the master race?

I can almost guarantee that when this game comes out, I will not be able to hold out anymore and buy a PS4. It looks like a very solid game.

Early access? You mean, you can get the ALPHA access while the rest can get the BETA access when the game officially releases ^_^ if you pre-order.
I am interested in this MMO but I will wait a month or two while all the beta testers play the game they can find all the bugs and server issues while I play something else 😉

At the rate the rand is going I won’t be getting this 🙁 Monthly subs are going to be ridiculously expensive due to the weak rand.
*sigh*

i really hope it is not f2P in 8 months. To date, i have not enjoyed any F2p Games… its loose – loose for me.
I much prefer sub games, but it puts a lot of stress on acquiring sub numbers, and it is bit expensive each month.
The thing i enjoy about these games is the cool extra stuff like mount collecting, holiday stuff, and these are all things you have to pay real $$$ for now.
In many F2P games, if you want something as simple a mount collection, it could cost the same as the entire gaming rig you are playing on (i’m looking at you Tera). That’s “just” for the mounts, let alone if wanted to select pets as well, or get a cool hat.
I like in sub games that it is pay a flat rate, all inclusive.

There’s more than enough ppl actually EXCITED about a subscription to this than you’d expect. Just take a look at most any ftp game’s community and you’ll see what I mean. This community is older (lot of DaoC fans here) and are used to paying $15 for quality content. Just b/c subs aren’t the ‘norm’ these days, doesn’t make that business model obsolete.

Doubt it, I don’t think that it would fit within the lore of the game 😛

Jip, and I don;t think they had a Dragonborn during that age. As far as I understand, the main character in Skyrim is supposed to be the “Last Dragonborn”

From the ES:O site:
“They will have unlimited access for the first 30 days following activation and can continue beyond that with a subscription of $14.99/month (€12.99 / £8.99).”

All subscription based MMO’s are at the $14.99 mark I believe? It’s the standard

I haven’t played any of those yet, I tend to stick to the F2P games at the moment.
