The new Tomb Raider’s been delayed to the first quarter of next year – but that doesn’t mean that Crystal Dynamics isn’t already planning a sequel. Yup, expect more Tomb Raider. hopefully, we can expect more Camilla Ludington as well.
“You have to look at the future, you have to look at where… It’s not just one game,” said Crystal Dynamics’ global brand director Karl Stewart to Videogamer. “At the end of this game we want her to be that strong female character that is willing to go and seek out mysteries and seek out tombs. She’s going to be going to plenty of tombs in this game, but we’re going to have somebody who wants to go on that adventure, who wants to be the person that she now is. That’s the goal.”
Stewart has opted to keep quiet on specifics though, saying:
“I don’t want to say anymore on it because I’ll have the game director of the next game going, ‘What the fuck are you saying?’”
The Tomb Raider reboot will be raiding your wallet on March 8 2013. From everything we’ve seen, the game’s shaping up to be pretty incredible, humanising the no-longer-quite-so-busty Lara – though it is admittedly stepping in to some Unchartered territory…
