Everyone has a game in their library, that despite never being a massive success, they still loved. For Yolanda, that game is any new release of a farming simulation. For Geoff, it’s Amazing Spider-Man. For me? Just Cause 2, one of the cheesiest examples of a baysplosion, ever committed to a digital format. The second game came out in the dark age of 2010, and allowed players to attach a soldier to a speeding jet and then jump out of it while high above the planet. It was brilliant. And it looks like rumours of a third game were true. I think.

Here’s an image tweeted by Avalanche head Christofer Sundberg for a new game that the studio is working on. After firing Garth and using that hush money from Atari to hire and afford a detective, we discovered that Avalanche was the developer behind the previous Just Cause game. Also, that guy looks rather a lot like Rico Rodriguez, falling towards…something.

JC3

Avalanche has a bunch of games in the pipeline right now, and a third Just Cause could be the main event. And hell, I’m looking forward to it. Just so that I can see which actor Rico resembles in a third outing. JC1, he looked like Antonio Banderas. JC2, he kinda had an Al Pacino appearance. Maybe in the third game, he’ll have facial features matching that of Joe Viterelli.

lol, I still need to finish JC2, but every time I load it up, I spend most of the time flying my jet… This game is sandbox fun, not brilliant, not a narrative giant, but damn can it be fun…

Either this is a pic from the game, or Christofer fired one of his staff and threw him out of a plane. Standard pracice at the company I guess…..
