Uncharted3

The embargoes have lifted, and the world is now able to tell us what it thinks of Nathan Drake’s latest adventure, in Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. As you’d expect, the scores are all exceptionally high (well, except for the notoriously stingy Eurogamer, who have it an 8). The general opinion seems to be that it’s an excellent game – but a little less perfect than Uncharted 2.

“It’s just an inch further from perfection than Among Thieves — but that’s still closer than most game franchises get within their lifetimes,” says Joystiq, with Gamesradar bellowing that "While it never quite reaches the highs of Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3’s slick, relentless action, beautiful visuals and beefed-up multiplayer ensure that it stands well enough on its own."

We’ve yet to get a review copy of our own, but will have a review for you soon after we do. Uncharted 3, a PlayStation 3 exclusive, will be available on November 2.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
