With all the media attention Crysis has been receiving it is quite interesting to see some screenshots of the CryEngine and Unreal Engine side by side…
There really isn’t that much difference that I can see, the CryEngine seems to be better at outdoor images, the plants and sky look nicer in those shots but the Unreal engine seems better at the dirty human shots…
I guess it all depends on which type of game is your cup of tea. There are rumours that Crysis is coming to the PS3 and we already have GOW (Unreal Engine) on the Xbox 360 so I wonder if this is going to turn into another battle that we will need to keep our eyes on?

The Crytek engine was always lovely in the outdoors ( ie. Far Cry ) but kinda blows in the indoor areas big time. I think it will be the game that makes best use of the engine that will win.
