What time is it? Time for a 3D Adventure Time game!

I may not be as much into Adventure Time as I was when the show first started, but the series still has a place in my heart. A place that still needs massive amounts of therapy and recovery after being subjected to a nightmare fuel episode of clown nurses. Still! Adventure Time is as strong as it ever was in terms in popularity, and it has seen its own fair share of games over the last year or two. There’s another Adventure Time game on the way though. And it’s in 3D boyee. ACCEPTABLE!

Adventure Time: Finn and Jake Investigations is the name of the game, with this one being described as a fully 3D action-oriented twist on the classic story-driven graphic adventure game. It pretty much picks up on a story thread that the show explored in a previous episode, where Finn and Jake’s foster parents were revealed to be professional investigators.

“We received a lot of fan feedback asking us to bring our next Adventure Time game to next generation consoles in 3D, and we’re thrilled to be delivering that and a lot more,” said Little Orbit CEO Matt Scott in the press release.

This new game is a complete departure from previous Adventure Time games. We have created an intriguing classic adventure game set in a richly-detailed 3D Land of Ooo where players can check out Land of Ooo locales, talk to characters, sharpen their creative puzzle-solving skills, defeat bad guys and just have fun.

I kinda dig the idea. If the writing is sharp enough and the humour remains ridiculously weird and skewed towards old school fantasy, this could be a fun diversion. Still, I need to remain optimistically cautious about this, as Adventure Time games can be hit or miss. Just no more of those damn clown nurses man. Even I can’t handle that. The game will be hitting pretty much every gaming platform in November.
