Xbox 360 Final Fantasy XIII on 3 Discs, PS3 Fans Point and Laugh

Haha ha, you hapless disc-changing fools! Because of your poor choice of console you’re going to have to get up in the middle of your games to change discs, COMPLETELY RUINING whatever immersion you had in whatever game you were playing on your inferior Xbox. It was recently confirmed that the 360 id’s RAGE will ship on two discs – And honestly, who would rather have a stable frame-rate than not be burdened with the herculean nuisance of changing discs?

It seems that your woes are set to continue – and you greasy, Dorito-munching Xbots will have to move your fat assess off of your couches more often as the extra capacity afforded by Blu-Ray proves to have been a smart choice.

Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase has confirmed that there’s just too much Final Fantasy to fit on one DVD – and he hopes to squeeze it down to three. That means Xbox owners will have to get up and change discs at least twice within 40 hours of gaming. Why even bother playing?

According to Kitsae “The 360 version and the PS3 version should be pretty much equal, both in terms of content and the visuals as well”

“Since the hardware is different, there might be some subtle differences if you compare screenshots side by side, but the team’s being very careful about the compression of the data and the visuals, so that it’s exactly the same on both.” Only the Xbox version is automatically rubbish because it comes on MORE THAN ONE DISC. Ha!

Blu-Ray – and, by association the PS3, is for champions. Xbox games come on multiple discs. And the machines overheat and die in a crimson fury, exactly what they deserve. PS3 owners – Please maintain that smug air of superiority. You deserve it.

Ok so + – 40 hours of gaming. Beer to hourly gaming ratio = +- 4 bph (beers per hour) Pee to beer ratio = +- 1 to 3. Sooooooooo over 40 hours of gaming @ 4bph / 3 ppb = about 50 toilet breaks. Do you get man nappies with the PS3 version?

You guys think you are being funny. But instead you end up looking so sad. The Xbox 360 is by far the superior console. The Live service is far superior than PSN that’s why Sony is giving it away for free. Don’t even try to argue. YOu will only lose.

You know what’s really annoying? Having to change discs every time I want to play a different game, I mean seriously? Why can’t they just release a Teal-Ray or a FadedSalmon-Ray that was like a gajibizillion TB’s so that everything in the world ever is on it, because the thought of getting off my couch at any point is just ridiculous.

On that note, Lost Planet had multiple discs, but I didn’t even get to the second one, although once again I had to take the disc out to play a different game, it’s ridiculous to think what these companies expect from us these days.

Oh and do not even get me started on backwards compatibility Sony has in fact failed at even the simplest of things like rumble XBox360 yeah it’s in there, Sixaxis is there for what, to make a game that was fun to play a pain in the ass, Sony lost 10 Million excluding the rumble feature then to add insult to injury removed the emotion chip from it’s hardware only to emanulate it with software causing the PS3 to burp and chug along, whilst my XBox360 Elite did not come with a BlueRay player it out performs the PS3 hands down Sony owns the patent to BlueRay and is making end users pay through the nose for that format with the disk on average costing twice that of DVD’s, with developers leaving Sony like rats fleeing a sinking ship, Square Enix moving to XBox360 must of put the fear into Sony but the jury is still out on that one, say what you will about Microsoft I use Linux, until Sony gets with the program it’s XBox360 Elite yeah it’s in there!!!

And now I will mention the Wii, I did not purchase the Wii for myself but for my children it is a fine console straight out of the box for pre-adolescent children and maybe some older teens if they are into the pastel world of Nintendo, I like action games and RPG’s after getting The Legend of Zelda (of which I LOVE) I found the controls lacking and hard to use, I found out why with Wii putting out the add on to bump up the signal from the controller those Black Knights just kept kicking my ass over and over again, as I was wondering were the hell is my curser so I can do that special move to take this Bast%rd out it was a hard fight to get to the end of Twilight Princess, with about 10 Million of these units sold to retirement homes it is a big hit with the older folks, but as I found out the low price to start out with is just that a starting point to play most older games you must purchase other controllers for most and can run the Wii’s cost to that of a PS3 and with a very small but solidstate hard drive the Wii is still a good and fun console to own

And no, install will still require you to insert the disk.

Anyway, i’m not sure what the fuss is. We knew this game was never going to fit on 1 DVD. Rather a game with disc swops than a game that’s been gimped to fit on a single DVD. J-RPG fans have already dealt with this problem with Lost Oddeysey being 4 DVDs.

Reading this was somewhat entertaining… once I got past the feeling of reading a journal entry from a spoiled child.

As far as Specs go, I cant disagree that PS3 is far superior. However, at what cost? Personally, I have been a huge Sony fan since PS1. But, when the next-gen consoles came out, I found myself struggling to waste $500+ on a game system. I waited and waited for the prices to fall… but, I got fed up. I dont have my mommy and daddy to throw me allowance and hand me everything I want. I have to go for the better option. Years after buying my xbox360, I’m sold. 9 times out of 10 the graphics are better on 360(even though the ps3 has the capability to blow the 360 out of the water). XBL kicks PSN’s ass… Gamerscore ftw. Avatars make the dashboard way better than PS3.

I’m sorry, but even to this day I cant find the confidence to waste $300 on a PS3. Rather than lowering the prices of the sytem, they do as Sony always does… repackage it with an added perk for the same(or slightly discounted) price.

Now as for FFXIII and changing discs. Please… ’tis but a minor inconvenience. Think of it as a piss break in the middle of a long movie. I think that in a 40+ hour storyline, changing discs will be hardly noticeable… I actually prefer multiple discs because I feel like I’m getting more for my money. And, I like how it was mentioned that us “dorito-munching xbots” will have to get up off our fat asses to change the disc… How is this a bad thing? “Youre fat, now you get exercise… losers!”

First off, doritos suck. Second, we will actually have to remove our asses from our seats and breathe real air for a few seconds, whilst PS3ers will continue to roast THEIR fat asses in their seats. Youre right… it sucks owning an xbox.

Also, I must mention that Blu-Ray was not “chosen” by sony for PS3 because it was a better technology. It was inherited by PS3 because it was Sony’s patented technology. Microsoft was banking on HDDVD, which failed miserably and for good reason.

So, regardless of the disc change(which is a childish attempt at a burn) PS3 has absolutely no benefit to XBOX360 in multi-platform games. As long as XBOX360 is around, PS3 will be limited to what the developers choose… which will alway be to release a “universal” copy, rather than 2.

Final Fantasy Vii (all the way till 9)
Lost Oddesey (yes on xbox 360 only ) 4 DVD’s although I May not agree with how they packed them But I had no issues getting off my ass and inserting a Disc (save first).

I love the way that this little fanboy fight has suddenly switched to, ‘sarcasm’, honestly, what a wimpy ass scape goat. You defended your point for multiple posts, then when people who are clearly more informed and intelligent than those defending the PS3 starting picking faults and holes in both your console and post, and the general consensus of Xbox owners was ‘oh well, 3 discs, big whoop, should be a kick ass game then!’. Your such a douche and a coward, and by the fact that none of the PS3 owners can put up either a decent point or a longer post than half a sentence doesnt really give any evidence that they really have a clue, or brain capacity to be anything but sheep and just follow what the last person said. I dont care shit all about any console, its a medium for playing games on, its either good or bad, Id sooner play a game with a decent story than decent graphics, but PS3 doesnt have either, the PS3 frame rates are half what Xbox is and yet the PS3 is technically the more advanced system. If they actually bothered to make a game that made use of its hardware abilities then itd be a great performing console, but then theyd most likely run into hardware failures, perhaps a reason they havent. Developers ran the xbox on the red line since its release, and hence it over heated and graphics soldering came loose, x clamps warped hot PCBs etc, if theyd run it at 75% capability then it would neither be as graphically awesome or have over heating issues. Also since pretty much ever game that was meant to be a PS3 exclusive has become exclusive to Xbox or been available on both. Most of the developers cant be arsed with the PS3 architecture and hardware constraints, meaning eventually PS3 will have almost no one but themselves and EA making games for their system, even Square Enix (a sony games developer) has/is on about going to xbox instead.

Ive owned systems since the Spectrum ZX, I loved the playstation when it came out, but it had no competition, the sega megadrive was 16bit and the PS was 32bit, then N64 came out and had a handful of good games on it, but was cut short by the PS2, which again was great, soon arrived the Xbox and stole scene for a mass of adult players with the fact its graphics were better than PS2, it offered some interesting unparalled, non linear plotted games (Jet Set Radio Future comes to mind first) aswell as having a man sized controller, and a controller cable that actually allowed you to sit more than a few feet from the TV screen, aswell as having a safety feature thatd pull out to stop people tripping over the lead and pulling the console off its perch. Hell, I havent been able to comfortably use a playstation controller since i was about 17, my hands wont fit on it and I have average male sized adult hands, I end up with my little pinkies hanging off the ends of the controller. Now we got a pair of consoles, one doesnt have blu ray, which no fucker cares about anyway cos the discs will set you back £20 each compared to the regular DVD flavour which is usually about £5-10 depending on store/promotions, and the other console doesnt have any half good releases on it, the developers dont want to work on games for it and the corporates cant be bothered to do shit with it either. Its come in on a high horse riding on the success of its previous consoles, which actually had ground breaking stuff worth buying them for, class leading graphics and fantastic storylines. On a rant about controllers while Im at it, the xbox has pressure sensitive triggers, whats the PS got? Fucking stupid bumpers only, how the fuck am I meant to play racing games to any degree of accuracy with that shit, No acceleration – Full acceleration, yeah thats just bloody tremendous, next gen console that cant even master a sodding controller. May aswell stick to a god damn Joy Stick!

Anyways, Geoff, your a fucking retard, next time you want to put up a thread just fucking dont alright. No one wants to read your so called sarcasm (which is a blatantly bullshit get-out for being such a fuckwit)

All the best to everyone else who isnt an obvious numb minded gayboy, sorry fanboy.

I’d wager it really gained prominence in the late eighties with the 16 bit wars. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Console_wars#16-bit_era

Thanks to the proliferation of the internet, it has degenerated significantly with each successive generation of consoles.

“the xbox has pressure sensitive triggers, whats the PS got? Fucking stupid bumpers only, how the fuck am I meant to play racing games to any degree of accuracy with that shit, No acceleration – Full acceleration, yeah thats just bloody tremendous, next gen console that cant even master a sodding controller. May aswell stick to a god damn Joy Stick!”

The PS3 has pressure sensitive buttons… Every single one of them.

I find the PS3 controller superior to the 360 controller.

    Yes, I own both consoles.

Maybe you don’t, therefor feel shitted out, and have to cuss down the other console to make yourself feel as if you aren’t missing out on anything.

Both consoles are equally as good as each other.

PS: I prefer Blu-Ray over DVD.

Makes a huge difference on a 40″ HDTV + Surround Sound.

Sound quality is much better, same with picture quality.

ok first and formost doritos are awsome. second of all how can you cosider yourself a hardcore gamer w/o having all 3 next gen systems? the whole consule loyalty thing is just beyond me, at no point during my playing of fallout 3 did i i say ” oh wait this game suck cuz i got the ps3 version instead of the xbox 360 version.” there is a good reason to buy every one: zelda: twilight princess, super mario bros. wii(“cuz if you dont like mario then fuck you.”-ricky bobby)and metriod prime are all instant classics you cant play if you dont have a wii. the halo series was prolly the best fps ever made (yes modern warfare 2 is super pimp but its not exclusive so it doesnt help me make my point XD),plus i feel the 360 has the best consule for pc interaction for playing downloaded media from pc to your tv imo and btw’s the recently dubbed game of the year was a ps3 exclusive( uncharted 2: among thieves) plus dude it comes w/ a blu ray player, and free online play. third of all to the ppl who ragged on the articles writer get a sence of humor it was funny, dont get mad just cuz you have to change disks on your xbox copy of FF13 more times then some one playing eye of the beholder 2 on an amiga 500 lol (yeah i got one of them too and dont even get me started on the whole mac vs pc thing its the same damn thing a w/ different OS{and to pc loyal: mac users can run windows they just dont want too fyi})forth of all: SICLICONQUEEN! DORITOS ARE AWSOME!!!!!! and a ps3 is not a waste of $300 anymore than a xbox 360 is. they are toys and if you can not AFFORD your toys then perhaps you should be working and not playing.(that was a grown up burn btw)Finaly, while im ranting online i’d like to say one more thing:remake FF7, one of the best games ever made, plz.pretty plz, your guys remade just about every other one, so come on, my $60 is ready and waiting. I have now officaily ended the consule wars stop bloging and go buy the system you dont have and have fun.except for siliconqueen whos a dorito hater, but i still respect for voicing his opionion intelegently./wink

I have both consoles but will buy it on the 360. I actually am hoping it will be on 3/4 discs, there is a charm about it, which is what i liked about FFvii and others, the fact that they proved to be one step ahead by not limiting themselves of the capacity of 1 disc.
IF the disc swapping annoys you, simply install it to the 360 hard drive, this will mean it wont need CD swaps. If anything a game thats loading from a preinstalled HDD rather than streaming off a blu-ray disc should have better performance. We will see.
both consoles are great, one has an inbuilt blu-ray player, the other has better online support for online gaming (which is worth the £39 a year).

Haha! Although I did pick up on that sarcasm you offered in your article, I think I will maintain my smug air of superiority. However, despite being a PS3 owner, I won’t be picking this game up until it hits the discount shelves, or it is sold used by some rpg player upset by it’s insanely linear storyline. No… I will continue to hold my breath in anticipation for the second game in the trilogy entitled FF13 Versus. I’m sure this PS3 exclusive has it’s developers much happier without all the limitations the hated gates has imposed on their otherwise potential masterpiece. This 3 disked wonder brings me back to the days of the incredibly short and also linear game entitled “Fable” which had 360 owners all over screaming “See? We can play rpg’s too! We have equally large attention spa- squirrel!” :w00t:

If you ask me, leave the short attention spanned western video game industry to the west and their prized console, and leave the jrpg masterpieces to those who do it best. I understand Square-Enix just wanting to make a bundle of cash, but aren’t they really just proving that the North American culture that pisses on art is spreading to even the culturally rich overseas nations? If you ask me, 2 and 3 disk games in todays day and age in 2010 is just more proof of our inability to truly grasp any form of quality.

You bunch of fat lazy uninformed turds. Before you even start bashing the 360 because it will have 3 discs you really need to understand the concept of why. It isn’t about fitting all the code onto one disc as Bioware have proved time and time again a full length RPG can be done. The reason it has taken so damn long to be released is all down to the fact that Square Enix and Sony were being a bunch of money grabbing assholes.

The 360 version will not be better just because it fits on 3 discs. Did you not read the blog? They will be equal in comparrison just like all games made across both platforms. The ps3 version of the game will look exactly like the 360 version. The only difference is the Bluray disc has a higher capacity. One dual layer DVD is about 8gb. A single layer Bluray is about 25 gb. Obviously since 3 discs at 8 gb is 24gb, one single layer Bluray at 25 gb is enough space to fit the game. Also, for everyone else saying “Oh but we can just install to the HDD and never swap discs, you are wrong. You will need to have each disc loaded as the game calls for it, regardless if it’s installed. This is because the xbox version is formatted so each disc is a separate bootable game source, it will just be tied to load up where your save game starts you at, just like the older final fantasy games. Microsoft requires this in order to prevent exploits where you could load a game without the disc on stock xbox firmware.

just because the xbox owners have to swap disks does not prove anything about whether the PS3 is superior to the 360. True the ps3 generally has more graphics but in comparisons between the ps3 and xbox 360 versions of ffxiii there are very slight (if any) differences between the graphic mechanics used in the game. Granted this is partly due to it being spread onto 3 or 4 disks for the 360 but that is hardly a bad thing :getlost:
The xbox 360 also does have a much better quality of gaming as in most peoples general opinion, microsoft have mastered the online gaming experience in most areas. The monthly fee argum, ent is pointles as playstation owners will soon have a monthly fee thrust upon them too :S
In my opinion and also in alot of other peoples opinions in this thread it seems like the idea of 3/4 disks… it adds to the excitement as xbox owners will open the case and think “wow, this game’s so awesome it’s on four disks” whilst ps3 owners will think “meh its just one disk… like every other boring ps3 title!”

The online experience for both consoles is equal. People try to swear by the xbox live service but in all honesty I’ve tried both and would rather not pay for online gaming. I’ve already disposed of a lot of money into the console games, the accessories and requiring a subscription to use a feature that is already included with the game is redundant. I understand where a lot of people would say that paying for the service guarantees that it will work better since you are supporting it with funds, but the ps3 online experience is identical in almost every way. There is a store to buy games and movies, I can have online buddies, voice chat across multiple games, send messages, use the eye camera for video chat–basically where i’m going with this is fanboyism is lame. You bought the console and it’s great that you want to support it, but money isn’t really free so whenever I don’t have to throw it into something i’m happy. Clearly, having free online gaming isn’t the reason I bought my ps3. I have an xbox too, but I don’t use it online because I may or may not use the features enough to justify the cost. It’s just like car insurance. It’s dumb that I have to pay for something I might never use but it’s nice when I need it. If I could have it for free and put that money elsewhere then I’d be more inclined to do that. This is a terrible example but the point is that there are trade-offs.

Point is quit trolling folks and enjoy the damn game! In fact, the only game I’ve played more than an hour in one sitting is Wipeout HD (awesome game mind you), God of War 3 looks like a winner though. Wonder how long the mandatory install for FFXIII is gonna take on a PS3? Couldn’t be longer than the few seconds it takes to swap discs right? Riiiiiiiiight. *puts up anti-troll force field*

To be honest i agree with the ps3 having better graphics. The reason being is blu-ray atm is better on a DVD player than a DVD. This said means blu-ray has thee ability to show more detail but only slightly. So yeah ps3 has better graphics but all FF games that have multi disk own whether or not so shove the fatass talk up ur own fatass. and btw the bahamut owns on FFXiii just summoned and owned flans XD

umm, yeah, the ps3 version won’t support true 1080p, not due to a lack of storage on the blu-ray, but due to a lack of pure graphics processing power. its actually stretched out 720. the chip used in the ps3 is actually older than the one in the xbox (which was actually ahead of its time, hence the technical issues from day one). the xbox version will support true 1080p. so yeah, thats why its 3 discs.

also, i’m basing this entirely on my opinion of the inferiority of ps3 because its based on a dated nvidia 7800gt and the xbox is running an early (also dated by now however) radeon 2900xt.

they’re about equal if you have a brain gameplay wise, but the xbox will always look marginally better. in the end, i pick xbox because i already own one. i shouldn’t regret my purchase until the PC version comes out. until then, i guess i’m getting up off my couch for the long…long walk to the television.

Chirst, are you all still arguing about this? I’m buying it for the 360, not because I don’t have the money for a ps3, but because I prefer the online service(ie: acheivements) as well as the interface. That, and from what I’ve seen, the games are identical albeit for pre-rendered cutscenes.
But here’s the stickler: the age old argument has been which system is better as a whole, and it really is just a matter of preference. Just my two cents on this, but here are the facts. The ps3, as a whole, is a better buy for the money. For the same price as an xbox, you get a blu-ray player, a system with a user-replacable hard drive, built in rechargable controllers, as well as free online gaming and built in wifi. As a multipurpose machine, it’s a lot of bang for the buck.
That having been said, when I was given the option of buying one or the other, I decided to purchase the xbox. Why? A blu ray player with built in wifi is great. But I’m not looking to purchase a movie player, or a new computer. I wanted a game system, and even after 4 years of these consoles being out, the xbox still has more exclusive games and a greater number of cross platform titles natively developed on it(need I mention resident evil 5?).
When Bayonetta came out, I bought it for the xbox and my friend got it for the ps3. It had better loading times on the xbox, and slightly better graphics. We still both loved the game and were able to share that connection from it. I find it hard to believe that anyone would insist on buying a new ps3 just for Final Fantasy(but maybe I’m mistaken. I didn’t purchase the xbox right when halo 3 came out, just so I could play that).
The ps3 has better graphics CAPABILITIES but WORSE graphics overall, because not many developers are building natively on it. And for the number of truly great, built from the ground up ps3 games that I can count off both hands? Frankly, I’ll stick with my xbox for now. Fact is, people with ps3s will purchase XIII on them, and 360 users will purchase XIII on the 360. As for the few of us who were smart/rich enough to buy both platforms, I honestly don’t think that it’ll be the end of the world if you get it on the 360, unless you own a $1000 7.1 surround system, a gigantic HDTV, and absolutely MUST watch the cutscenes in all their glory, as opposed to just, you know, playing the game.
Anyone who disagrees with me, feel free to call me on this.

I agree with you on this. 3rd party Developers can’t even get their game engines compatible with the PS3. Tired of this pointless console war of which console is better. If you guys want to have a console war then why not Sony and Microsoft have cross platform games and have us gamers fight off over multiplayer? This console war is ridiculous is just nothing but a matter of harsh words and support for your favourite console. No mattering you winning or lose. Its like the Special Olympics, you’re still a retard. No pun intended. Drop it already. Back to the subject at hand, ok three discs? So what its like Final Fantasy VII all over again. The gameplay and storyline is very good in my opinion so I give a rat’s ass about owning a PS3. “Oh wow I don’t like switching discs.” What are you lazy? Geeze, people always want to have the best technology ever.

The limitations of the DVD-9 format used by Xbox 360 games means that data will be compressed for that version of the game, says Square Enix. High capacity Blu-ray on PS3 allows for uncompressed data that yields higher quality graphics and audio. The resolution is cut in half as well

In answer to your arrogance, the ps3 is only superior in one area the blue ray in fact the blue ray is the only thing keeping the playstation from sliping off the edge, you take blue ray away and what are you left with ps2. On the talk about the number of discs. I like being able to change the discs its adds to the excitment and keeps to final fantasy tradition. It makes the game seem bigger and more challenging and adds to the experience. Not only that but it takes a few seconds, so when you do think of writing something like this again think it through because you made a total prat of yourself congratulations your just as uselful as a ps3 which in lammings terms is pretty useless and well crap!

Yeah right. Who the hell wants to get up and change the disc more then once? Thats stupid. You get the new systems in hopes to install the games or download games so you can discard the CDs. Changing the disc allows the feel of a bigger game. Horse shit. If thats so tell me do you have a hard drive with download games? If so delete them & go buy all the old systems and games for those systems and you’ll always have that feeling of games being bigger.
If the PS3 has no BluRay it would still be amazing. Why?
PS3 you can swap out the HD which is so cool with ANY 2.5 HD on the market. I just picked up a WD 500GB for my PS3 for $74. The 60GB HD on 360 cost you $100, 20GB cost $74, 120GB cost $130 and just imagine the 250GB. Talk about a rip off. 360 wireless is $100 with a damn Monthly or yearly fee. PS3 FREE. Plus INTERNET ACCESS which the 360 does not have. The PS3 is a PC, BluRay player and video game system. 360 is high $ for RROD. 360 1080i PS3 1080p. PS3 also has GOW3. Even without bluray, ps3 still has those features.

Xbox live yes you have to pay but you get a better experience it has the best online they use the money to update and make the experience better sony couldn’t give a fuck about its consumers they just want to make sure they get their money hence why it has the worst gaming experience even the wii is better than a ps3.

For the most part you are correct, however it is the bluray drive that gives the ps3 the 1080p you are talking about near the end. so without bluray it does not have 1080p. the cost of the wireless is less than the price difference between the consoles in most countries (thats the elite bundle, which has a 120g hard drive) – i don’t see the need for bigger one because of the usb input in the front for portable hard drives for movies etc.
I believe both consoles are awesome and without bluray are very similar. It’s like comparing the high end computers today and the high end ones a year ago (was that the difference in time between release dates?)

How does it build excitment? It adds medial tasks to get the same effect of the ps3 version.
And for your little “tradition” statement, most final fantasy games dont have multiple disks, so how is that traditional?

Yes, you’re right. It does make the game more challenging, but if you find it an entertaining challenge to get up, move to your console and mess around with disks, then why the fuck are you playing a game when you could be outside having an amazing time reenacting your gaming experience by walking your dog?

Disc 6? 🙂 Personally I think everyone here is acting like children. I own both consoles and FF13 for the ps3 and xbox360. I enjoy the xbox 360 more because it has better black levels and it does go up to 1080p. Who the hell thought of the idea 1080i… Seriously… The ps3, sure it may be faster, free internet, online, etc… But the xbox 360 is more enjoyable. You have over 21mil+ people on xbox live and cross game chatting. Ps3 you have 4mil at most. Games are more fun on the 360. You have a bigger variety. The ps3 occasionally has the great games like God of War 3, but xbox 360 has Gears, Halo, Mass Effect, Left 4 Dead, and many others. Graphics may tend to favor the ps3 more for textures and depth but again like I said, 360 has better black levels so its a richer color variation. Also, getting up once and a while is good for yourself too. Don’t be a fat ass. If you need to put in disc 2, then maybe you played too long. Take a break. Ps3, you play play play play play… you realize your fat and have played all day, forgetting homework or eating or something important. If you need to contact me, both my PSN and Live ID is:

c’mon ppl, who gives a crap about where u play ur game, gaming is gaming, no matter the console, both ps3 and xbox have their strenghts, ps3 with blue ray and slightly better graphics, and xbox with their great live experience, badass games like mass effect, gears, halo,l4d. i just got the ps3 a few months ago, i get it, its got good games but, if i had to choose a game based on computer power rather than experience, experience wins all the time. i.e. modern warfare 2, i got it for the xbox cause the live is just better, and i know its not free, but its not that expensive either. playstation has some way to go to level up to xbox’s live and that is just a fact, live with it. and for my 2 cents about ffXIII, i got it for the ps3 not because it was one disk, i got it 4 the ps3 cause ff games have always been proud on the graphics department, looks prettier, but if this game had multiplayer or a more expanded live experience, i would have gone with the xbox version, cause they have the best service, even if u have to pay for it, and besides, arent there talks about charging for the access now on psn just like xbox live?….

I am an owner of xbox 360 and i must say its a very high tech equipment. I think ps3 is about the same. I have seen same games at both and they are equivalent at specs. Well one of my 3 favorite games is ff7. I wouldn’t say its tradition to swap 4 disks again and again, or 3 with the new ff13. But i dont care either if i have to change them now. I ‘ve played Lost Odyssey and its 4 DvD’s , and i didn’t care swapping them. I only hope the index is good stuff..

Wow, Geoff, how old are you? You sound like a child and a pathetic PS3 fanboy who has no life. Multiple discs in games is nothing new and it is not a disadvantage: it adds to a sense of progression. Final Fantasy VIII was great for this; one could say that they are on Disc X to show how far through they are, and there is a sense of accomplishment when you progress from one disc to another. It also means you are spreading out the wear and tear over 3 discs instead of one, and you only need to install the portion of the game you’re actually playing, thus saving hard-drive space.

It seems you are just trying to find fault in the Xbox 360 to feel better about the PS3 – that, in itself, is fail. The only ones pointing and laughing will be those who see how ridiculously pathetic and childish your article is. Go ahead and maintain your deluded “smug air of superiority”. The Xbox 360 users will be the ones laughing.

If the article was just about how much you change discs throughout the game, why would you have put things like:
“PS3 owners – Please maintain that smug air of superiority. You deserve it.”
You are obviously just a PS3 owner who is intent on proving that the PS3 is better than the Xbox 360. I have played on both consoles (On-line, may I add)and the Xbox 360 was much better at communicating with people on the Maps, and its on-line playing was constant and very good at flowing nicely. I found the PS3 to lag a bit, and they were all full of people like you.
You are probably going to mention the fact that you have to pay for Xbox Live. Well, I’d rather pay for enjoyment and communication rather than play something I didn’t enjoy for nothing. :pouty:

I personally have a xbox 360, and i know friends who have the ps3. I think that this article is meaningless.

1:So what that we have to change the disc it just means were getting more exercise.
2: Ok so SOME of the people on here are fat asses and eat Dorito. Who doesn’t like Dorito? Anyways People on the 360 and the PS3 both are like that so whats your point?

3:Ok so Yoshinori Kitase states that there are a few differences. So what there pretty much the SAME EXACT GAME with the SAME EXACT ENDINGS.

4: Yeah we have to change the discs but i like that idea seeing who it reminds me off who the older ones used to be

5:Ok so what we get the red rings of death but you guys have the yellow lights of death. So SO WHAT!

6:The Cell engine (microprocessor chip) in PS3 is more capable than Xbox’s triple-core Xenon CPU. But the performance of these video game consoles also depends on the graphics processing unit (GPU) to a great extent. Taking that into consideration, Xbox 360, armed with Xenos GPU is far more superior than PS3 armed with RSX GPU.

7:The primary storage medium in PS3 is the Blu-ray Disc, with a storing capacity of approximately, 54 gigs, while the storage medium in Microsoft Xbox 360 consists of double layer DVDs, with a storing capacity of 9 gigs. In addition to this, both these gaming consoles also, come with a hard disk drive which enables users to store more games on the console. Storage medium becomes an important factor, due to online game purchasing capabilities of both console manufacturers.

8:Why don’t you do your research before making articles so you know what your talking about

      YET another fanboy… errrr GIRL!

Looks like you for got that the Xbox 360 version had to compress EVERYTHING from Audio to video (With rumors going around , that thanks to the 360 disc limitations so much stuff had to be cut out to fit the maximum amount of disc SE was prepared to ship)… Not forgetting it is Bink compressed at a 576P resolution… Where as the PS3 version is playing everything at 720P. AMAZING!!!!

Now concerning that disc swapping argument…. I for one love Lost Odyssey and we all know that having 4 discs is awesome. Giving you the illusion of money well spent. Then all of a sudden it scratches beyond repair!!! BAM. That what happened to my 4th disc on Lost Odyssey. Leaving me with a 3 disc game unabe to finnish it for the second time. Now what will you as a gamer do if you buy a FF13 finding out that one of your discs are scratched leaving it useless to play?

And plus the processors are a non factor here. We all know that the Xbox 360 version would of looked eqauly as awesome as what its PS3 counter part if it wasn’t for disc space and lazy porting from SE part.

And correction only the PS3 60GB suffered from YLOD. This has been clarified countless times over the last 3 years. And we all know that version of the PS3 was discontinued AGES ago.

Leaving me with this. FF13 is an awesome game.. But it was originally meant for PS3. Making the PS3 the better console to play it on.

WitWolfyZA have you tried buffing the disc? I go to this place called micro game and they buff it for like 20 dollars. It takes a layer off the disc so that it is easier to read. If you can’t find a place to buff it, did you get a warranty on it so you can send it into the company? They’ll send you a new one with no cost.

And I’m not trying to bash on either systems. Its been known that you Always have to have competition with anything. If there wasn’t then Sony or Microsoft could put there prices as high they wanted to making it. And we all know that it would be difficult for anyone to buy a system if it was higher then they are.

It is truely is up to the people to decided which one they like best. I just think it stupid that people need to bash on different things like this on a game site! I understand if it was a debate on tv or in the paper but to say it on an all gameing website it’s simply stupid and childish…

Ok, if you’re going to be a grammar nazi, at least do it right. First off, if you are talking about the intelligence belonging to a group of individuals, you say “individuals’ intelligence”. Way to miss an apostrophe right there. Secondly, “tbh” is not a word, you’re correct, it is, however, a common abbreviation on the internet and is generally viewed as being completely acceptable. Thirdly, starting new sentences with no capital letter is bad, mkay? Finally, even though it was a typo, it still adds to the irony of your entire post “even us proper spelling or grammar.” I lol’d; l2spellcheck.

On an unrelated note, “I think that everyone should have all of the consoles, like me”- Putting aside for a minute the fact that you’ve already proven yourself to be entirely laughable and in no way a suitable role model, thus invalidating anything you say, some people have financial constraints and most aren’t stupid enough to buy a wii in the first place.
