If there is one thing that I adore about the Xbox One, it’s the controller. It’s even more comfortable than the Xbox 360 controller, plus that haptic feedback on the triggers is amazing. Poor PC gamers have been waiting for so long to get their hands on it, but it seems the wait is almost over.
Apparently, there were some issues with drivers and compatibility that led to this protracted delay on PC support. Over on NeoGAF, people were complaining about this lack of support, and wondering when we might see an announcement from Xbox. Major Nelson actually piped up with his comment:
Soon. Very soon.
You know what else is happening very soon? E3. Could this mean that we’re going to see Xbox One support for PC announced during Microsoft’s E3 presentation? It is the perfect time to announce and will carry on the new vibe of Microsoft supporting gaming across Xbox One and PC. Of course, not all master race gamers are willing to give up their archaic mouse and keyboard controls, but those who are will be in for a serious treat on that Xbox One controller.
Oh, who am I kidding? You guys know I just love those vibrating triggers too much. But now, fans of the controller won’t be as compelled to get the console and give up on their precious PCs. Have your cake and eat it, too. I know I would like to play all my games with that impressive controller in my hands.

Yeah, PC peripherals are so archaic at least you can upgrade the HDD, optical drive, RAM, CPU, GPU and change the brand of peripheral you want on a console… Oh, wait.

Macs aren’t PC’s.
I saw this on a commercial a while back. Macs are that poor kid who helps Tim Allen save those aliens in Galaxy Quest, who then gets his eyes ripped out of his head in Jeepers Creepers, and who has an eye transplant in time to watch his girlfriend get Dragged to Hell.
PC’s are that guy from The Daily Show who sometimes has a peripheral moustache and sometimes doesn’t.

If the announce cross platform PC/XBone, it will destroy the PeeEssFawr….just my thoughts
In related news, I’m having tea with Lord Gabe in 6 minutes, where we will be discussing Free2Play HL3

Alas, my friend, Microsoft is not SMART enough to make PC and any Xbox “cross platform” or any kind of unified strategy of gaming. Sorry. Best we may see on PC from Microsoft is if they try to keep it “cross platform” with Windows Phone and that ain’t much, is it?
To think MS would try and use their Xbox gaming system to build a unified vision of gaming across their entire product base? Haha, that’s a pipe dream we all had many, many years ago before we realized Microsoft doesn’t give a fig about PC gaming no matter how many times they promise to do otherwise. (Hint: They promise to focus on PC gaming every 2-3 years when Xbox goes through a rough patch.)

The easier question would be, “what isn’t?”
Don’t like the genre and the band and the song and the sound.
But I know that a lot of people love them, so no judging. 😉

XBox 1 controller, or steam controller? difficult decision …
Either way – does anyone know if FIFA PC home streaming works even though it isn’t a Steam game? I know some non-steam games work; but honestly – that’s the only thing I can think of that I would want to play on a controller from the lounge on my TV.
Viking Of Science
May 26, 2014 at 12:27
It Should work, If you launch it through Steam, you know, add non-steam game in the corner. Give it a shot. however, it being a non-steam, you may experience some performance issues.
Weanerdog
May 26, 2014 at 13:56
I think that the steam controller is there to replace mouse and keyboard, so if its something that you would rather use a controller for now i.e. Fifa then the XBox 1 controller should be your choice I would hazzard, but we never going to know until we get some quality time with the steam controller.

only just recently invested in the xbox 360 one of these for PC…
hopefully the wireless one has better drivers than the 360 vers.

May 26, 2014 at 12:55
Me as well. Bought a 360controller about 3 months ago and I went for the wired option because I’m cheap like that.
Matthew Holliday
May 26, 2014 at 13:01
I tried 2 of the wireless ones, one of the recievers was bust and the other ones drivers conflicted with the recievers drivers…
returned both and got the wireless one aswell.

May 26, 2014 at 16:42
Wireless one doesn’t require drivers on Windows 8+
Matthew Holliday

which is good, should the default drivers not conflict.
wired version doesnt require drivers on any system.

Can’t wait till they announce the new required dongle adapter that burns out USB3 ports (like the older dongle did on USB2), costs $99.99 without a controller, is fiddly, probably incompatible with games so you still need the Xbox 360 controller for games that look for it, and requires installation of a new version of Games for Windows Live called Xbox One Games for Windows Live (Say that five times as fast) that is required for use with the controller.
When all Microsoft really had to do was just support Bluetooth and, voila! Like magic, we’d all have “adapters” for their controller built in.

I don’t understand why they didn’t design it work from the start. Its a couple of drivers that can just emulate the xbox 360 layout 😛 I’m sure they could have done that in a week. Give us a quick fix then work on a long term solution 😛 http://bit.ly/1jKn0PH
