It’s not dead. No meme ever truly dies until I give it permission to, and that goes double for Shaggy’s power, dammit. Kicking off 2019 in grand style, the Internet was consumed by the idea that Scooby Doo’s resident burnout/media studies student Shaggy Rogers was actually an all-powerful god whose power was capable of burning entire universes down if he even utilised a fraction of his immeasurable strength.
Thanos wielding the Infinity Gauntlet? Not bad, that’s Shaggy using 1% of his power to stop. Darkseid unleashing the anti-life equation? Heck, that doesn’t even require a full percentage of Shaggy power to deal with. Like all great memes, things eventually went too far as the internet decided to turn the crazy up to 11 and ask nay demand that Shaggy be turned into a playable character for Mortal Kombat 11.
Quickly gaining momentum, Mortal Kombat boss daddy Ed Boon played along with the idea and even went so far as to have the NetherRealm team mock up a look at what the game would look like if Shaggy entered it:
And that was it! The meme pretty much died quicker than a Roman centurion declaring things to be barbaric and we all moved on to the next big thing in dankness, which at the time that this article was written happens to be this:
Some people never give up though. The faithful, the truly dedicated, find a way to keep a meme going not only in their hearts, but also in video games. Like this mod for Jump Force from Beatz, that makes an otherwise mediocre game a thousand times better by placing Shaggy inside of it:
Yup, that’s some amazing stuff right there. It’s a complete makeover for the Vegeta model in Jump Force, layering in a 3D accurate Shaggy, some of his actual dialogue and even a proper UI. No sign of Scooby (Or Doobie!) snacks though. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to see if I can get the PC modding community to make a character model for Danny Dorito and place him in BlazBlue.
As for the rest of Jump Force? I’ll have a review up soon enough, although I’m not exactly bowled over by the game so far, thanks to a litany of issues which include character models that are stiffer than your dad after he takes one too many Viagra pills.

Great Combat tough on the arcadey side …..The rest is so dull…story lame and to many repetitive side quests.
