Dizzy

Did you know that Eggs contain all the essential protein, minerals and vitamins your body needs, other than Vitamin C? You might also not know that an egg was one the most beloved video game characters in the late 80s and early 90s. If you’re an old-school gamer who had a Sinclair ZX Spectrum, Amstrad, Amiga or Commodore 64, you’ll undoubtedly remember Dizzy, the anthropomorphic egg adventurer that was the star of his own series of commercially and critically successful games.

For the two of you reading this who remember, you might delight in knowing that Codemasters is bringing Dizzy back.

Codemasters has begun teasing the return of your favourite ovum. It’s launched a new website – Eggcitingnews.com – featuring an egg carton with a pair of eyes staring , accompanied by the words  "Guess who’s back?" No word – yet – on whether to expect a full retail title (unlikely) or a PSN/XBLA/iOS game (much more likely), but we’re apparently going to be graced with information later today.

It’s joined by a cute teaser trailer. Check it.

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
