A few weeks ago I was quite jealous of one of our friends who appeared to have the perfect job fronting PR for the upcoming Xbox release. A new console launch is a hugely exciting time for the gaming industry but then Microsoft had that event… and since then the sheer level of hate being levelled against all Xbox employees is astounding.
But in the midst of all this hate there is also a glimmer of entertainment. Granted it’s totally at the expense of Microsoft, but still I thought these images were fantastic.

This stuff isn’t nearly as funny as it is sad, I am a massive XBOX fan and have never had any problems with MS in general.
I got one of the first XBOX ver released and I think the PROD made me a bigger fan in a certain sense, that sinking feeling when you see the red ring, and then the hope and sincere prayer while you wait for the towel trick to do its physics defying magic, and finally, the elation of it actually working again and getting to play one more session of GOW.
I got a XBOX PROD swap out from MS without any lip from them, and won another one from MS at BT games during Halo 3 launch. I still have the console MS swapped out for the problematic one, and together we have defeated evil, saved galaxies and won world wars countless times.
I hate the fact that MS is turning in to everything that everyone has told me they are, and I resent the fact that I will have to become a PS gamer, and to add insult to injury, I have years of “told you so’s” to look forward to from PS playing friends.
Anyway, now that I got that off of my chest, at least I now have a reason to knock back a couple of beers tonight.

It’s all good though, you’ve seen the light and and error of your ways and are man enough to admit the mistake you made. I Better preorder that PS4 coz if there was a chance of a shortfall in production for release there is sure to be one now the X1 has been revealed. Worrying thing is M$ already tried the TV thing with Media Centre on Windows and that was shit, never “took over the living room” because it recorded what it fancied not what I told it to. Now if I could just find my Start button….

Personally, I say the best way to fight Xbox 1 is to go ahead and let the Kinect film you. However, every day for random intervals and at random times, everyone just sits down and stares straight in to the camera while masturbating with the most straight, dead-pan looking face they can muster.. Better yet, since it’s suppose to track how you react to various shows and gameplay, everyone should have a show on like Barney or something similar.
Let’s see how fast they stop collecting data then!
