    Catching Fire: very good movie

The Hobbit: good movie but I don’t know if all the crap they made up and added to the book actually adds any value whatsoever. Might even detract a little

Hobbit is such a difficult one because some of it is awesome and 2 seconds later something irritated me to the point of me disengaging from the experience and it has less of a starting and end point than the Two Towers.

Exactly why I avoided it like the plague. Some narrow dodges from my Mrs and kids dragging me in to watch it.

Nice visuals, but I would not recommend anyone watch Hobbit unless they have the entire trilogy available to watch, such is the empty feeling from the second movie. Some good scenes etc, but overall not that good.

Went to go see Carrie, was a good movie. A bit drawn out but never saw the original or read the book, but overall was a good watch, except left you wanting more.

Stayed away from malls and cineplexes altogether during the silly season. Managed to catch up on the following movies I missed in the comfort of my home with no annoying ppl to contend with except my Mrs who has a nasty habit of pausing a movie exactly 20mins in for a pee break… EVERY TIME!!

The Butler – okay-ish but I don’t get all the Oscar hype
Riddick – Underwhelming but was still cool (read Fanboy)
Wolverine – Underwhelming but was okay (read Comic book fatigue)

My December Holiday Amazeballs Awards (yes, it isn’t a current cinema list but but but…)
    The To-Do list
    The World’s End
    Blue Caprice
Elysium – Sharlto stole this movie, even the wicked CGI couldn’t compete

    Alan Partridge – Alpha Papa
    The Story of Luke

Thor was quite a nice watch.
Frozen was a brilliant animation movie. The Ice Queen singing gave me goose bumps! Best movie I saw in December.
47 Ronin was a decent movie to watch. People expecting a pure Samurai movie (did they NOT watch the trailers or look at the posters) might not find it as enjoyable to watch. But I liked it.
Hobbit…felt like there was no point to the movie. No climax, and no real sense of “accomplishment”. Nice visuals, but I would not recommend anyone watch it unless they have the entire trilogy available to watch, such is the empty feeling from the second movie.

Movie 43 is genius. So is Bad Grandpa. Gravity is lightning in a bottle. Riddick is so-so.

Riddick I didn’t really enjoy, it was okay but not great. It was better than 47 Ronin though.

I liked Carrie even though I think it should have been longer. Spent quite a bit of time setting the scene, but then rushed the character progression too much for my taste. Will like to see the director’s cut if they release one.
