Afro Samurai 2 pulled from stores for being so damn terrible

By Darryn Bonthuys

Usually any game featuring a homicidal maniac in a massive teddy bear helmet ripping people to shreds sounds like my kind of game. But Afro Samurai 2: Kuma's Revenge isn't anywhere near as good as it should be. In fact, it's so damn bad that the sequel has been yanked from digital shelves.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Batman: Arkham Knight, STASIS, Fallout 4. All fantastic games, that scored many tens of points with us and reviewers all across the world. But nobody cares about a success story. We’re here for the worst of 2015. So far at least. And this universe had a smelly yin to the superb yang that was on offer. Here’s some of the worst stuff that was pumped out this year.

Metal Gear Solid Rising Trailer

By Geoffrey Tim

Overall, I thought Microsoft’s Press Event to be a little disappointing. Unlike last year, there were no shock announcements, no big game reveals and nothing quite like the impact of Natal’s announcement. Rebranded Kinect, we got to see a few of the games for the system – and they largely pander to the casual crowd. None of the retail games …

Afro Samurai is the new Samurai Slasher title based on the popular Anime of the same name and follows the life of the Afro Samurai, an African American who was brought up in Japan and taught the ways of the Samurai. I have never had the pleasure of actually watching the Anime, so I was forced to enter the world …

What is the problem with cell-shading?

Cell-shading is a rendering technique used by game developers to give their games a stylized, cartoony look. This interesting visual style has been in use since the dawn of the last generation of consoles, and it’s produced some of the best-looking games on the market in recent years. Unfortunately, it also bears an unjust stigma with a large portion of …

All the reason you need to buy Afro Samurai

By Gavin Mannion

Afro Samurai may not be getting the best reviews out at the moment but I have stumbled across the only reason you will ever need to pick up a copy of this game. A Topless Female Samurai Stripper… could anything be cooler than that? Well yes, a whole horde of topless female samurai strippers, now if that’s not enough reason …

Afro Samurai – Body Part Poker Anyone?

By Nick De Bruyne

I have personally never seen the Afro Samurai Anime, so I don’t actually know what’s cutting (‘scuse the pun) when it comes to the story of this upcoming title. What I do know is that there is a Samurai and he has a big afro and that is nearly enough to get me completely interested already. This video looks at …

Afro Samurai Trailer

I have to be honest and say that I don’t really know anything about Afro Samurai. Apparently it is an Anime that is quite cool and is now being made into a game. This video really impressed me, it looks like this game could be a real heap of fun. From what I can tell this actually may be somewhat …
