Sorry Playstation people. If you were hoping to get some time with the COD5 beta then you will not be happy to hear that it has now been confirmed that the beta will only be available for the PC and Xbox 360 platforms. Treyarchs excuse? PSU.com reports the following about Treyarch's statement: "We are running the beta only on the Xbox 360 and PC," said the representative. He continued then to point out that most betas on the PS3 are run by first party anyways, and if Treyarch runs their testing on the Xbox 360 and PC they acquire more data on servers and connectivity." Excuse me, but that sounds like a load of trash to me. Are there issues with the PS3 versions development? Nothing is for certain and we don't actually know if there are any actual issues with the PS3 version at the moment but with an excuse like that my mind really has to start wondering. I don't think that we are getting the full story here. I think that someone has screwed up somewhere and now the PS3 owners are going to have to miss out because of it.

Head on over to the Resistance 2 website, fill in the form and then hope that you get an email that confirms that you are in. Please note that you will need your Playstation Network ID and must be 18 or older. You want to try out some 60 player multiplayer as well as some 8 player co-op? You know what to do. The official statement after the jump. Publisher Sony Computer Entertainment America has opened up an online application form for the beta test of Insomniac's PS3 shooter sequel Resistance 2. Beta access is granted to pre-order customers and subscribers to Qore, Sony's digitally-downloaded video magazine. But for those unwilling to spend money, aspiring players can apply for free access at the Resistance 2 site. Applicants will need their PlayStation Network IDs and must be over 18 years old. The beta test samples Resistance 2's multiplayer modes--including competitive modes for up to 60 players and 8-player co-operative play using multiplayer maps--and will start in early October. The complete game will be released on November 4 in North America.

Activision announced today that that the multiplayer betas of COD:WAW are going to be hitting the Xbox 360 and PS3 in October. If checking out maps from Europe and the Pacific as well having a look at the games new squad system, perks and kill streaks sounds like your thing then you should definitely check it out. If you are an Xbox 360 user you can go now to www.callofduty.com and register to be apart of it all. There are currently no more details on the PC beta or when and how you will register for it. You may also be wondering where the PS3 beta is. There is no news whatsoever about the PS3 version at the moment. With no indication of whether or not it will actually become available. When asked about it, Activision said: "We'll have more details on the betas in the near future." What exactly is that supposed to mean? I guess we will just have to wait and see.
