The 100 greatest video game quotes–Part 3

By Darryn Bonthuys

What makes a really great video game quote? I like to think that it’s far more complicated than just a witty collection of words. There are so many facets that go into finding a moment of speech worth preserving, remembering for all eternity. There are the people who give audio life to those words, their delivery, timing and the quality …

Fans of the second Far Cry, the African-set sandbox shooter that estranged itself from the Crytek developed original will be happy to know that a sequel is in development. When questioned about his involvement in a sequel at an event for James Cameron’s Avatar : The Game, Ubisoft writer Kevin Shortt, instead of replying with a typical “No comment” instead …

PlayStation Home gets an Upgrade, and Maybe a Reason to Exist

By Geoffrey Tim

PlayStation Home is – if you’ll excuse my Swahili – F!@#ing pointless. Sony’s attempt at replicating Second Life ranks only slightly above Xbox Live Avatars on the list of “completely useless things added to consoles this generation that serve as a great way to fleece consumers of their money.” The biggest problem with Home, aside from the idiots who harass …

By Geoffrey Tim

The recent school shooting in Winnenden, Germany was nothing short of tragedy that left 16 people dead, including the killer – 17 Year old Tim Kretschmer. It was inevitable that somebody would try to draw a tenuous link between the shooter and videogames. This time, it’s the UK’s Times, who’ve given us some very “carefully thought out details.” Last Updated: …

One more day until the weekend which means it’s also time to listen to Yahtzee let rip on a new title. This week is a special one for all us South Efrikans as he seemed to take a liking to the bad SA accent and continues to review the title using some mutated British/Ozzie/SA accent which is quite a terrifying …

I haven’t watched any of the other Gametrailers awards video’s yet but I had to post up this one as I completely disagree with their answer. I agree with their nominations for best graphics being Metal Gear Solid 4, Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2 and LittleBigPlanet but I just can’t agree with the winner. Not …

Unfortunately I haven’t seen anything official coming out of of the console manufacturers yet but I have always trusted VGChartz and they are yet to let me down so let’s see what they have to say. According to them the biggest winner this holiday season has once again been the Nintendo Wii but I don’t think anyone doubted that. For …

Far Cry 2 Freezing Bug

By Nick De Bruyne

To all of you who like me, are putting a great deal of time into Far Cry 2, be warned. Reports are popping up on the internet that a bug in the Xbox 360 version of Far Cry 2 is causing the game to freeze at around about the 62% mark. It is obvious that a ton of frustration can be caused by this bug, so I suggest that you keep your eyes and ears open for news on a patch. At the moment, it seems like the best option is to start saving quite often before you hit that mark so that if the freeze happens, you can start from only a short time before and hope that it doesn't happen again. We will keep our eye on this one and report any news of any upcoming patches, so stay tuned.
