Gameloft are now blatantly.. and I mean blatantly.. ripping off Starcraft 2

Gameloft are no strangers to claims of plagiarism and over the last while have ripped pretty much every AAA title that you can think of into mobile format. However in this latest step I do think that they may have bitten off more than they can chew. Their latest title called Starfront: Collision is a 4 player iPhone RTS title …

Gameloft’s Modern Combat Domination Trailer

Gameloft are mostly known for their blatant rip offs interesting repurposing of popular games for the mobile phone market. Generally, they do a pretty good job; iOS games like their Halo clone inspired N.O.V.A, Shadow guardian, their take on Uncharted and others are actually rather fun, well realised games. They’re now bringing a game to PSN, and it looks mighty …

Gameloft clones StarCraft and Uncharted to iPhone and iPad

Alright, screw this; I’m now officially beyond pissed that I don’t own an iPad or an iPhone. Those who do will know Gameloft already, but for those that don’t, they’re a company that makes games for iOS devices (iPads, iPod Touch and iPhone) that shamelessly clone other games from other platforms. You could argue that they lack originality and make …

GT Racing Trailer For iPhone – Not Gran Turismo, But Who Cares?

By Nick De Bruyne

GTracing.jpg Gameloft, who are known for their awesome titles, especially when it comes to platforms like the iPhone have been working on GT Racing. As you can tell from the title, the game is pretty much a shameless clone of Gran Turismo and to be honest, I don't care. The game is actually looking great, and seems to play well from what I have seen in the trailer, so I can't say that I'm not happy about it. To be dead honest, I couldn't ever see Polyphony bringing a Gran Turismo to the iPhone, not with the stuff already on their plate, so this works for me. Check out the impressive trailer after the jump. Video Games | GT Racing: Motor Academy | Debut Trailer

Earthworm Jim Unearthed – headed to XBLA, then Wiiware and PSN later

I have fond memories of launching cows as a large space-suited annelid on the Sega Megadrive back in the days of yore. Having recently replayed the first Shiny-developed game without rose-tinted nostalgia glasses has diminished the magnitude of that fondness somewhat; It’s still a zany, fun game but there are aspects of the game that don’t quite hold up as …

PocketGamer.biz has been tracking mobile games for quite some time now and have just announced that they felt that Gameloft has been the best publisher of mobile games in 2008 in terms of quality. Mobile gaming has received a lot of negativity previously and it seems that while we have been ignoring it they have been working on the quality …

Chuck Norris Game Roundhouse Kicking Its Way Onto Mobile Platforms

By Nick De Bruyne

No, this is not a practical joke. This is in fact a real story. Chuck Norris: Bring on the Pain is being developed by Gameloft for mobile platforms and will have the player kicking the snot out of "baddies" left, right and centre. Another interesting feature that the game is going to have is going to be the ability to take photos of your friends and then create enemies using their faces. I'm sure that there will be many a math teacher wondering why kids all wants photos of them all of a sudden. The game will feature bosses such as Kim Jong-il and Fidel Castro which just goes to show that the Chuck is willing to slap the toss out of just about anyone to ensure that justice is served and that everyone learns that no one messes with The Chuck. What impresses me the most is that Gameloft have apparently found a way to contain all the awesomeness that is Chuck Norris onto a phone without it exploding in an amazing shower of roundhouse kicks and denim jeans. It's incredible what people can do with technology these days. I wonder if we will be seeing a Vernon Koekemoer port, because that would obviously just be awesome.
