In case you were wondering if Sony would finally reveal the PlayStation 5 at CES 2020 while you slept the night away, good news! They didn’t! The stigma around mobile games won’t be dispelled with just that handful of examples though, a point made abundantly clear back when BlizzCon 2018 kicked off with the announcement of Diablo Immortal and saw the harshest of fan backlash thrown right back at the legendary developer. It’s a moment of infamy, and one that rival company Riot Games were terrified of repeating when they announced their own slate of games last year that just so happened to include a mobile project of their own.

CES has started this week, allowing the companies who make consumer electronics show off their latest wares. Asus has kicked off in a big, big way by revealing the world’s first 360Hz g-sync gaming monitor. In a word where the current consoles struggle to hit 6 fps and the next generation of the them will strive for 120fps, having a monitor that refreshes 360 times a second seems a little overkill – and even for most dyed-in-the-wool PC gamers it is.
