Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order almost didn’t feature any lightsaber combat. According to Game director Stig Asmussen in an interview, LucasFilm wasn’t “comfortable” with Respawn using Jedi in their game.

While Star Wars films may be filled with dismemberment scenes a’plenty, Cal Kestis will leave his foes in one piece for the duration of the game. Most of the time, that is.
Respawn Entertainment is promising a new spin on how they’ll make a more elegant weapon from a more civilised age feel hefty, dangerous and powerful, as lightsaber combat is clearly a priority for the studio in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
