Say what you like about Red Dead Redemption 2 and the odd glitch, but that game felt amazingly polished when it came out in October, with zero large-scale patches having been introduced for the game…yet. A sequel that truly feels like the result of hundreds of people being overworked, Red Dead Redemption 2 a terrific example of quality meeting expectations. A quality that exists as an educational benchmark for CD Projekt RED and their upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 game.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided needed a few extra months in the oven before it was released. And hopefully, that's the kind of polish that you won't even notice.

The reason PC gamers won;t be joining new-gen console owners in playing GTA V this year is one of polish.

Ubisoft's Watch Dogs team has been doing little more than polish the game during its six month delay. It had better be really shiny when it's released in May.
