According to the house of Sonic, the lifetime sales of the Yakuza series is now at 14 million copies sold across all titles. The last two years have been particularly impressive, with a 20% growth after the release of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life that saw the series hit the 11 million sales mark back in 2018.

There are still those who are willing to get up at the crack of dusk and boot up their console to find him for you. People who’ll risk digital life and limb to let you know if Xur is selling a treasure or rubbish. I just so happen to be one of those people. When awards are handed out this year for various games, Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima definitely deserves to be in the consideration for many a prize. It has style, it has a fantastic world, and it has hands-down the best swordplay ever seen in a video game since Kyle Katarn began slicing up Stormtroopers in Jedi Outcast.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of my favourite games of the year, but even I have to admit that after I made the leap from Xbox One X to Xbox Series X with the game, a whole bunch of ugly bugs began popping up and souring an experience I had previously been enjoying for dozens of hours. Take a gander at the forums, and there’s no shortage of complaints either.

Red Dead Online is officially ready to part from the Red Dead Redemption 2 posse and ride solo. The multiplayer add-on to Rockstar’s yeehaw sandbox, Red Dead Online won’t be going free to play but it’ll still be a lot cheaper than the traditional game, if interacting with dodgy online cowboys who all have anime references for names is more to your liking.

Cyberpunk 2077, the game of a dozen delays and impossible hype, is finally ready for its December 10 launch on a bunch of systems. Last week saw footage released for the game running on Xbox One X (meh) and Xbox Series X (better!), while this week the focus is on jacking into the Sony side of Night City. Also stop laughing, you juvenile lot. That sentence is only slightly funny.

Less is more, and Destiny 2: Beyond Light feels like a positive first step towards a new era for the franchise. New Stasis subclasses, a compelling storyline, and a gorgeous new planet to explore make for an intriguing new direction for Bungie’s cosmic sandbox.
