A lifetime of war has taken its toll on The Punisher, as his neverending crusade to kill crime has resulted in this soldier using any and all methods at his disposal to get the job done. The Punisher may be getting his hands on his greatest weapon yet: The War Machine armour of the deceased James Rhodes, as he becomes a walking arsenal outfitted in pilfered Stark technology.

I’ve been trying to make some sense all morning of the current state of Marvel comics, following the weekend reveal of 52 new covers (sort of rings a bell) that will chart the direction of the Marvel Universe in the wake of Secret Empire and the Legacy mini-series that aims to re-establish the status quo of several familiar icons. Steve Rogers has another familiar soldier on his side in Secret Empire #3

Secret Empire #3 further solidifies the reach of Captain America and HYDRA, but a resistance is growing. While Star Lord’s attempt to recruit some help from the Skrull, Kree and Shi-Ar goes disastrously wrong (hey at least we know that Rocket Raccoon is a Wu Tang fan now), the likes of the Black Widow and Hawkeye are busy cooking up a plot all of their own in this very busy issue.

Whenever a non-comic book geek friend asks me to explain the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War to them, I always just summarize it as “All the heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe versus Thanos”. It seems though that I may be a liar. Maybe. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War) have previously spoke about the gigantic roster …

Oh, this news makes me so happy! I’ve already explained why I think season two of Daredevil is superior to season one, and in that explanation I touch on Jon Bernthal’s depiction of the rather angry Punisher. And what a depiction it is. Angry, psychotic, VIOLENCE INCARNATE with a side order of vulnerability and sadness – he did such a good …
