Begun, my hype for a slightly-updated version of Star Wars: Republic Commando has.

Would it still be amazing if some studio dropped out of stealth, shouted “hello there” and proceeded to slightly update Republic Commando for newer systems? Yup! That’s just what Aspyr Media is working on, as the studio detailed how it was adding a touch of polish to the game to bring it up to next-gen standards.

I’ve just got one question for EA. Where the hell is my Republic Commando remake?

There’s no sugar-coating one indisputable fact in the gaming industry: EA’s handling of the franchise, has been nothing more than a colossal f***-up of note. Five years into the contract, and the sole provider of Star Wars games on current console and PC platforms has managed to churn out…two games. Now granted, making video games isn’t easy. But if we had our way, we'd be swimming in dream games already.
