The glorious, unimpeded march of technology continues ever on. Once again, we’re being gifted with a game that was a hallmark of technological limits in a bygone era, on devices we keep in our pants pockets. Next month, we’ll be able to play Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on the go; and it’ll be even better than the original game. The mind boggles.
Rockstar’s announced that the game is on its way to iOS, Android, Windows 8 mobile and Amazon’s Kindle tablets – but it’ll be getting a bit of an overhaul.
You’ll see San Andreas with newly remastered graphics including dynamic and detailed shadows, greater draw distance, an enriched colour palette as well as better character and car models.It’ll also be rejiggered for touch controls, though it’ll have controller support as well.
There’s no word on how much it’ll cost – but GTA III, which was given similar treatment is available on iTunes for just $4.99.
Now all they need to do is make a mobile version of the underappreciated Bully: Canis Canem Edit…which could actually be happening. Rockstar recently filed a trademark for ‘Bully Bullworth Academy: Canis Canem Edit‘, which could be a next gen sequel – but I’m not going to get my hopes up on that just yet.
