Sony to shake up gaming with PocketStation?

1 min read

If you don’t remember Sony’s PocketStation, don’t feel too bad. The PSP-precursor was only ever released in Japan. What it was, was a memory card that you could play games on, similar to the VMU you’d find on the Dreamcast. Sony seems to be teasing something related to its resurgence.

According to a teaser site, whatever Sony is cooking up is “something that will shake the gaming industry”

I honestly don’t know what to make of this – though I wonder if it’ll be an app for the Vita or smartphone and tablets. that will grant it PocketStation-like features. We’ll have to wait until next week, as the site says” On November the 5th, 2013 there will be an important announcement about PocketStation.”

Editor. I'm old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time - they were capable of being masterpieces. I'm here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.
