South Park is still one of the most current and hilarious shows on TV. It never fails to amaze me how spot on they can be. This week, they pointed their satirical gaze on the console war.
In a two-part episode about Black Friday and the console war, the boys become divided over the Xbox One and PS4:
For those who don’t watch videos, conflict is sparked when the boys realize they don’t all want the same next-gen console. Kyle explains:
Stan, the PS4 doesn’t have the seamless transition between games, movies and TV offered by the Xbox One.
Stan believes that Kyle and the others are just too stubborn to see that they’re wrong – “like most Xbox people”. Cartman has to pull Kyle away with the beautiful line:
Let these Sony f***s wallow in their limited voice control functionality.
Now I really need to see this episode. We all know the console war is silly – but it makes it even better when South Park shows just how weird fanboy-ism can be.
