Build a house, adopt a baby: Skyrim’s new DLC will make a house wife out of you yet

Bethesda has announced their next major DLC for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Hearthfire. This downloadable content doesn’t seem to be adding anything new to combat but will allow you to build your own kitchen. It will, really.

Skyrim owners will be able to buy property to build a house (because the houses you can already buy whole and furnished just isn’t good enough), add kitchens, greenhouses, libraries, alchemy labs and trophy rooms. You’ll also be able to hire your own personal slave, or steward, whatever they call it these days.

As if all the kitchening and frolicking in the garden isn’t awesome enough, you’ll also be able to adopt a child. I’m expecting to see houses made entirely of kitchens filled with children all over Skyrim. The DLC will be available for Xbox, costing 400 Microsoft Points and is set to release on 4 September on Xbox Live.
