So What Does Devil may Cry’s Creator Think of the Change?

Capcom have enlisted Heavenly Sword Developers for the next Devil May Cry, which follows the exploits of a young, rebellious reimagining of the series’ regular protagonist, Dante.

Many fans of the series are outraged, upset that their ass-kicking gothic hero now resembles an emo, angst-ridden teenager that wouldn’t be out of place in some rubbish fiction about sparkly vampires. some think the new game should be titled “Devil May Cut Himself.” What does Hideki Kamiya, the series – and character’s creator thing of the change?

Not much.

It’s quite plain to see he’s not much of a fan. Me? I don’t care what Dante looks like. If Ninja Theory can produce an excellent game, than there’s no reason for fans to be so filled with vitriol; let’s give them the benefit of the doubt until the game’s out at least. If you want a more traditional DMC, go play one of the older games. The only way games can move forward is if developers try new, interesting things.

Dear Lord people are making a huge fuss about this :getlost: The game is called “Devil may cry” not “Dante may cry”,so how can you be upset when you change the characters. If you changed the lead in a game like Bayonetta then I could understand, but DMC. Come on,nobody got upset when they removed Master Chief from Halo.

That’s the thing. It’s still Dante. It’s just teen emo Dante now.
