Back in the early part of 2013, before Tony Stark and friends Hulk smashed it into kindling, the box office had one young Queen: Katniss Everdeen. Gary Ross’s adaptation of the dramatic trials of the arrow-shooting heroine became an almost overnight smash, raking in the praise as much as it did the box office records and dollars (all 686 million of them). So, you know, no pressure new director Francis Lawrence.

Luckily, judging from this first teaser trailer, he’s off to a great start.

“The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour’ of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.

I really like the cut of this trailer, in that while it goes on much longer than your average teaser trailers, all the footage is composed from the very start of the story, meaning they’re actually giving away fairly little. And since I’m not going to be that guy that spoils the story for everybody, this is where I do the same and just shut up.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be rebelling in cinemas on November 22, 2013.

books were awesome, good easy reads.
except the end of the last one, which was worse than mass effect.

movie was ok, not quite as sensational as the book, but pretty accurate.
Jennifer lawrence is also the hottest chick in hollywood atm, which helps.

I think she was being rushed to finish the book. I enjoyed them and I’ll re-read them just before Catching Fire is released. Not really happy with the casting for Joanna and Finnick…

I love how they don’t give too much away. Unlike Carrie…
