Fury

Man, who would have thought that World War 2 was a terrible war to be caught up in? Unlike those fancier Civil Wars and Seven Year Wars that had all manner of creature comforts, Dubya Dubya Too was a grimy, brutal conflict with death being grisly at best. And tank crews had one hell of a time being caught in all manner of crossfire, as you’ll see in this new international trailer for Fury.

April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, and with a rookie soldier thrust into their platoon, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their heroic attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.

Looks like a solid mix of action, drama and impeccably well-maintained hair. I’m digging the tank action, so this might be some essential viewing for me. If you happen to be a bit of a World War Two nut, and love authenticity, then here’sa  fun fact for you: The Tiger tank used in the film is very much one of a kind. Director David Ayers managed to get his hand on the sole working model available, and shoot some scenes with it. And compared to the Allied tank that Pitt and his crew drive, the Tiger is very much the Muhammed Ali of assault vehicles.

Fury stars Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman, Shia LaBeouf, Michael Pena and Jon Bernthal. David Ayer’s directs for an October 17 deployment in the US of A. It’ll be rolling into out cinemas in January.
