Look, it’s a new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so I know that you are not even going to bother reading these pesky words. So I’m not going to bother writing any more of them. So scroll right on down to the new trailer, which debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, and prepare to have your fanboy socks blown off.

HOLY FRAKKING DOOMSDAY, BATMAN!!!

So all the rumours were true! Lex is indeed using General Zod’s corpse to create Doomsday, and it’s the raging beast – which, you know, did kill Supes in the comics once – which poses a big enough threat to bring together Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman aka the start of the Justice League.

Darryn will probably be along shortly with an in-depth breakdown of that trailer, but for now I just want to mention how fantastic that standoff is between Henry Cavill’s Clark Kent and Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne. I know there was quite the fan outcry when Affleck was cast as Wayne – as there always seems to be about every superhero movie casting except Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool – but I have this suspicion that Affleck may just be the most true to the comics Batman we have ever seen on-screen. He sure as hell looks and sounds the part as Batman!

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was directed by Zack Snyder (Man of Steel, 300, Watchmen) and written by Chris Terrio (Argo) from a screenplay by David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel,) and also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, Diane Lane as Ma Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa is expected to also be making an appearance as Aquaman, while it’s been rumoured that we may also see the Flash and Green Lantern show up in cameo form. The film is scheduled for release on March 25, 2016.

God dammit! Now I need to change my pants! I am VERY happy that they have shown some humour in an otherwise very dark and serious looking movie.

Just wonder how Wonder Woman fits into all this or did she just happen to pass by…? “Mmm – I’ll just see what’s going on over there while going for a stroll in my Wonder Woman outfit.”
