Writer/director Catherine got her career off to a decent start with Lords of Dogtown and Thirteen, but to say that I just wasn’t a fan of director her last two films, Twilight and Twilight Without The Sparkly Vampires But Way More Werewolves and Really Fake Looking Sets aka Red Riding Hood, is kind of like saying that I’m just not a fan of taking a cheese grater to my shins followed by a lemon juice bath.

With that in mind, I have no idea if Plush, the new thriller starring Emily Browning (Sucker Punch!), will actually be a return to form for her. What I can say though, is that it has a [email protected]#$ing rocking trailer!

After losing her band mate and brother to a drug overdose, rising rock star Hayley finds herself in a downward spiral. The second album from her band Plush is received as a critical and commercial disaster. She finds new hope and friendship in Enzo, the replacement guitarist who inspires her to reach new creative heights. But soon their collaboration crosses the line sexually and Hayley, who is married with two children, retreats from Enzo’s advances. As Hayley slowly discovers Enzo’s dark and troubled history, she realizes she may have let a madman into her home and family and that her mistake may cost the lives of people closest to her.

If it wasn’t for that synopsis up top, I would have had virtually zero idea what this film is actually about, but I would have been bloody intrigued, which is exactly what trailers are supposed to do! You hear that, trailers that tell you the whole movie in two minutes!

Read  Hitman 2 will have a 1V1 competitive feature called Ghost Mode

Oh and because I know you’re wondering, the song is by Kate Crash & the UFO Club and it’s called “Sexuo”.  You’re welcome.

Plush will be out in limited release on September 16, 2013.
