I wasn’t sure at first about the return of the gang in Trainspotting 2 but after watching this first full trailer I think I am getting excited! Someone once said the more things change the more they stay the same and I think that can be said about the trailer which is why I am currently riding the nostalgia wagon at mark 8 and that’s fine by me.

After 20 years the gang are back together, those being Renton, Spud, Sick Boy, Begbie and Dian and it looks like most of them haven’t changed a bit, well, they have more grey hair I suppose.

We also once again have the iconic tune Born Slippy by Underworld, which is a little alarming as it’s almost like they are redoing the first film for the sake of selling something based purely on nostalgia. Have a watch and see what you think:

A lot of flashbacks, more drug taking and more Spud tripping the light fantastic, WIN! Apparently it’s very loosely based on Irvine Welsh’s book Porno, which was the follow up to the hugely successful Trainspotting. It didn’t quite have the same impact so let’s hope the film does better.

The new/old Trainspotting 2 arrives 27 January 2017 in the UK.

I have been an avid fan of movies ever since I discovered Santa Clause wasn't real, a day marked in my memory by my first viewing of It's a Wonderful Life, which wasn't so wonderful that day. Since then I've watched thousands of movies and even fooled my parents into putting me through uni to get a degree in the subject. I first started writing as a journalist for The South African Newspaper before moving onto communications for an NGO trying to save the planet. Unfortunately my recommendations to the CEO that we should all don rings imbued with the powers of earth, fire, wind, water and HEART went unheard. Now I pretend the end isn't nigh by hiding in movies.
