Man of Steel may not have had a ton of soul, but when it came to being a technical showcase, director Zack Snyder and his production teams knocked the ball out of the park and into orbit. A ton of green screen and all manner of special effects went into making this film. Check out some behind the scenes for yourself, and marvel at General Zod’s intimidating pillow armour.
Seriously, look at that picture of Zod below, and then look at how seamlessly his armour was rendered over that foam. Say what you like about Man of Steel, but there’s no denying that it had some of the best special effects this year. Hell, most of the time I didn’t even realise that the cape on Cavill was CGI. And when a special effect manages to accomplish that, then you know that the folks behind it are damn good.

Great movie. But I can’t help but wonder about two things? First, why didn’t Kevin Costner just send Superman to get the dog? Second, why did the military need to abduct Louis? Couldn’t they just ask the guy who was the fat kid, like she did?

He sent him off to look after his mother & thought he’d make it back in plenty of time. They made a point of saying how much research she did to track down possible sightings – it would be easier for the government to grab her & get the info from her to redo all her research in the time they had.
I watched it again last Sunday heh.

It still seemed a bit dumb. Why run into a tornado when your kid can handle the job? Maybe it was to illustrate how dedicated Kevin was to protecting Supes’ powers, but I thought it was a cheap trick.

He told Clarke that people are not ready for him to be revealed to the world as they would reject him. It was a selfless act. Very good actually.

But if that was his motivation, surely he knew he’d die while trying to get the dog. Why else would he be worried that it might expose Clarke? So, if he did all this while being selfless, he pretty much committed suicide. Then why go back for the dog at all? Was he worried Calrke might go for the dog? Why would Clarke do that if he didn’t go rescue his father?
It still seems like flimsy, cheap writing to me.

not sure if you being serious here?
He damaged his foot after the car fell on the car he was in, hence then he could not run back to the people who were saved
Suicide was not his intent, and also remember im sure he was still very much a father figure and didnt know if Clarke would be hurt or not. He didnt know how powerful his son was.
