You know how every year shops seem to be putting up holiday decorations earlier and earlier, until now, depending on which side of the shop you’re on, you could be celebrating either Christmas or Easter? Well that’s happening to movies. The last quarter of the year is usually when all the Oscar bait movies start coming out, but it seems we’re getting their promos nice and early.
And first contender is August: Osage County, a dramedy based on a Pullitzer Prize winning play starring an ensemble cast headed by Meryl Streep. Yeah, they can start polishing the gold statues now already
Based on the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award®-winning play by Tracy Letts, “August: Osage County” tells the dark, hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them.
August: Osage County opens in cinemas on November 8, 2013.
