Read Max Landis' idea for GHOSTBUSTERS 3

We’re all well aware that a Ghostbusters 3 is going to arrive…eventually. Some of you might not be comfortable with that idea, but I ain’t afraid of no sequel. What I really want, is a cast and crew that will do the two original films some justice. Someone like Max “Chronicle” Landis, who could write a killer script. He’s not going to unfortunately. Even if he does have a killer idea for Ghostbusters 3.

The idea that Landis has, is a combination of passing on of the neutrona wands, self-referential material and an homage to the past as the Ghostbusters have become a global paranormal extermination service. Here’s his idea for the opening:

But wait there’s more! Later on in the day, Landis outlined his general idea for a third Ghostbusters film:

I have no idea why Sony hasn’t hired him yet. Because this is the kind of Ghostbusters film that I’d love to see. I can just picture the final scene now, as dozens of Ghostbusters descend on Times Square for a final showdown with Gozer, before we hear the surviving originals shout in the background “LIGHT ‘EM UP AND MAKE ‘EM HARD!”.

I would watch this film so damn hard. C’mon Sony, hire Landis to write and direct this movie already. Don’t take no for an answer.

Extreme Ghostbusters worked. It was not only a new team – they were likable and diverse. It fit together well. The story outlined by Landis can definitely work if they don’t mess up the casting.
