Godzilla 2014

I don’t know about you guys, but I’m pretty tired of seeing movie trailers give away the entire film before it’s even released. Between my rough cuts of Iron Man 3 and Spider-Man 2, I’ve managed to see enough of a movie and save big on buying the blu-rays.

Godzilla on the other hand, has taken a different approach, with trailers only teasing the immense size and scale of the king of all monsters. A new trailer is out, and once again, there’s only one big money-shot at the end. And yet it’s still got my skin in full goosebump mode.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

Now that’s more like it. A lot of folks are forgetting that there is some damn fine acting talent in this movie, with Bryan Cranston carrying quite a bit of the emotional scenes in the movie. Godzilla stomps into cinemas this May and also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn. Gareth Edwards directs.

  1. I had the uneasy feeling that they had in fact given away the whole movie. I hope I am wrong.

PS. Did anyone else pick up on the music from the beginning til about 3/4 of the way through? Isn’t that the score that was used at the end of Space Odyssey?
