Don’t watch this trailer for Comet. Don’t even read these words about it.
Aw, damn it. You read them, didn’t you? Well, you shouldn’t have, because according to all sources, the best way to watch Comet is to go in knowing absolutely nothing about it. Since you’ve already gone past that point though, we may as well keep going, though we will definitely do our darndest to avoid any details.
So what is Comet about? Well, that would be part of that pesky detail stuff, so let’s just skip that. What we can say is that this indie-sci-fi-romantic-drama *phew* from writer-director Sam Esmail made quite the impression on the festival circuit earlier in the year, with many a film journo praising it for it’s tender emotion and constant inventiveness and also heaping tons of praise on ecstatic performances from leads Justin Long and Emmy Rossum. Besides for a gripping story, Esmail has apparently also penned two very touching, fully realized characters for these actors to inhabit, and they reportedly rise to the occasion and then some.
But enough words from me, check out the very charming trailer below. Yes, I know what I said at the start of this article, but the fact that you reading this clearly means that you didn’t listen to me then, so why start now?
Comet is set for limited release on December 5, 2014.
