You have not seen this new trailer for THE COBBLER before

There’s an old expression that goes, “Never judge a man, until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes”. I’m guessing that at that point, you can do whatever the hell you want because you’re a mile away, and you have his shoes.

What does this have to do with the new trailer for Adam Sandler’s The Cobbler? Well, as you can probably guess from the title, this is a flick about shoes and specifically about wearing somebody else’s, both literally and figuratively. Also, I generally wish Sandler would stay more than a mile away from making another movie. That last part is not to be though, but luckily this time around Sandler doesn’t just find himself goofing off with his friends on another Happy Madison production. For The Cobbler he’s teaming up with writer-director Thomas McCarthy, the guy behind the charming The Station Agent and Win Win and who penned the screenplay for Up. Those are serious credentials.

And as you can see in this trailer The Cobbler definitely appears to be more McCarthy than Sandler – which is without a doubt a good thing – with even a little bit of Method Man and Steve Buscemi thrown into the mix. Check it out below.

Max Simkin (Adam Sandler) repairs shoes in the same New York shop that has been in his family for generations. Disenchanted with the grind of daily life, Max stumbles upon a magical heirloom that allows him to step into the lives of his customers and see the world in a new way. Sometimes walking in another man’s shoes is the only way one can discover who they really are.

The Cobbler also stars Dan Stevens, Ellen Barkin, Dustin Hoffman, Melonie Diaz, Yul Vazquez and Greta Lee. It is scheduled to step into your cinema on March 13, 2015.
