You'll think everything is crazy in this trailer for ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING

I have really enjoyed many of the movies of Simon Pegg. They’ve been edgy, funny and different, sadly everything Absolutely Anything doesn’t appear to be. It looks like a remake of Jim Carry’s 2003 Bruce Almighty, a fun look at what happens when one man gets the power of God. Only this time it’s aliens giving away the power and the aliens are the crew of Monty Python! So at least it’s a British take on Bruce Almighty so it may surprise me!

Have a read of the plot below:

Absolutely Anything follows a disillusioned school teacher (Pegg) who suddenly finds he has the ability to do anything he wishes, a challenge bestowed upon him by a group of power-crazed aliens (voiced by Cleese, Gilliam, Jones, Palin & Idle), watching him from space.
As he struggles to deal with these new found powers and the events that subsequently arise, he calls upon his loyal canine companion Dennis (voiced by Robin Williams) to help him along the way.
Mishap after mishap finally leads him to the ultimate conundrum that all men dread and at which many have failed….should he choose the girl… or the dog…?

Sounds like a bit of fun. I also like the fact that the dog is voiced by Robin Williams and that the film has the lovely Kate Beckinsale in, though probably not in a tight, leather body suit, sigh. Other big names you’ll notice are Eddie Izzard and Joanna Lumley, very British I say.

It could turn out to be a load of fun but I am remaining cautious as it does look like it’s been done before.

Expect the powers that be to land 14 August.

The last time I saw the Pythons teamed up with this much comedic talent was Yellowbeard – and that was awful…
