Borderlands 2 is full of big beasties

Yeah, you know how I said I was sick to death of shooters, cos they’re all the same modern combat nonsense – or if not that, they’re all space mariney? that goes out the window with Borderlands – The heavily stylised, scavenger hunt loot-a-thon first person shooter is a blast to play with friends – and is probably one of my favourite new games this generation. Of course I’m damned excited for Borderlands 2 – and you should be too.

Here’s a new Borderlands 2 trailer set (mostly) to the tune of Wimoweh, otherwise known as “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” which you’d probably know from the Lion King. Or you might know it as the 1939 South African song “Mbube,” recorded by Solomon Linda and The Evening Birds from which the more famous Weavers version was based. Linda ended up dying poor and impoverished – while the record company ended up making millions. Typical.

Sad story that completely detracts from how fun, silly and zany this new trailer is.

Oh, Claptrap!

Borderlands 2 is coming to PC, Ps3 and Xbox 360 towards the end of September.
