Can you name these video game locations?

1 min read

Dutch artist Tim Hijlkema, the guy responsible for that video game planets animation has done it again, this time cramming 26 distinct video game locations within a 4 minute video. Watch it – and see if you can name them all. I was especially tickled by the second one – and would likely stab people in the face for a good sequel to one of my favourite PS2 games.

All 26 locations are available as downloadable 1080p desktop wallpapers too, which is neat. Without cheating (the names are all listed on the YouTube page) see how many of them you can correctly identify – and which games they’re from.

I did pretty well, failing only at the locales from MMO universes.

Editor. I’m old, grumpy and more than just a little cynical. One day, I found myself in possession of a NES, and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3. It was that game that made me realise that games were more than just toys to idly while away time – they were capable of being masterpieces. I’m here now, looking for more of those masterpieces.

  • Bully was awesome, I really hope they make a sequel. So much potential

  • Admiral Chief Erwin

I’d play a game with that GFX mod 🙂

  • RDR, Bully, Half-life 2, Durban, Mafia?, N64 007?, TF2, my back garden, ?, Assasins creed , dont know but its pretty, Fallout 3 the kindergarten place, mario land?, mirror edge?, fable, I really have to get back to work…

  • OVG

  • Sir Rants-a-Lot Llew

Most pretty easy. One or 2 I am not sure of though

  • I only got 14, that’s still a pass mark right?
