Disney Infinity 3.0 screens show off the true Twilight of the Republic

Disney Infinity 3 (11)

Let’s be honest here: Those Star Wars prequels were sort of…kak. Okay, they were genuinely terrible. But much like a real-life turd, they also had some potential nuts of brilliance hidden within them. I’m talking scenes such as seeing that kid from The Sixth Sense pod-race, the duel with Darth Maul, the Clone Army attack on Geonosis and the epic battle between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Moments which helped shape a great CGI spin-off series for several years. Which has in turn, shaped the look of Disney Infinity.

New screenshots for the major story part of Disney Infinity 3.0 gave been released. Take a gander at the very Clone Wars-inspired Twilight Of The Republic below:

That particular playset features series staples Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth “Tis but a scratch” Maul as they work their way through the entire trilogy. The Rise Against The Empire playset on the other hand stars Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia Organa, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Darth Vader as they adventure through the original (AND BEST) Star Wars trilogy, while the super-secret Force Awakens playset has so far yielded no information save for the the fact that I’m now short on Bothan spies. Many Bothans died to bring me that bit of info. Blerry Bothans, always with the dying don’t you know.

Once again, Ninja Theory is contributing to the combat mechanics, with a new system in play to handle the lightsabers and Force powers of the Republic. Hopefully a more elegant game then, for a more civilised age when it hits iOS, PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One later this year. And hopefully the playbox will allow me to populate it with Jar Jar Binks…that I can practise these skills on.

Also, hands off the Ahsoka Infinity figure. SHE’S MINE!

Something wrong gentlemen? You come here prepared to read the words of a madman, and instead found a lunatic obsessed with comics, Batman and Raul Julia's M Bison performance in the 1994 Street Fighter movie? Fine! Keep your bio! In fact, now might be a good time to pray to it!
