Fallout 4 teaser site confirmed as a hoax

I hope you weren’t too excited by he prospect of a brand new Fallout game on the horizon. Not only did the “teaser site” fail to have a payload, or Bethesda fail to show anything at the VGX or awards; the whole site’s been confirmed to be a fake.

As many suspected, TheSurvivor2299.com was a load of bollocks right from the beginning. The whole thing, apparently was created by a member of the Fallout community on Reddit who runs a Fallout Facebook page and became incredibly bored.

The domain was registered by a faux Zenimax and was accompanied by a European Fallout trademark that was later shown to be a hoax itself.

For a few weeks the site was littered with morse-code messages that changed periodically, before culminating in this memetastic tunnel Snakes video:

For it’s part, Bethesda posted on Twitter, saying :

PSA: If you don’t hear it through an official channel like this, assume all rumors and speculation are false.

The numpty troll who made the site and got the world anxious for a new Fallout left a special message for those who’re angry and bitter about the whole thing. Classy.
